You can usually take the switch apart and clean the contacts. Just be careful and take note of where everything is when taking it apart, I seem to recall there being a 'BB' or 2 inside.

Is the ECU in the 88 740 Turbo exclusive to that year or are any others interchangeable?

AFAIK, the 88 was the only year to have the different distributor.

Sure you can, but the center headrest assembly has to come off... It retains the bar that connects the 2 halves of the seatback.

There are three bolts holding the center headrest in place. Remove those after you get the bottom out (push down/in then lift up, where the carpet meets the seat bottom. There is a hook on each side...

There is a bearing just ahead of the diff. Mine was making a thumping noise so I had to repack it with grease. Wasn't too hard and it couldn't hurt.

Picked up some B pillar covers at the junkyard and they have some holes, about the size of a silver dollar, sorry youngins, 1.25" or so.
