for the 3 locking nuts on top of the strut towers...what is the size...not near my car right now and need to order some...does anybody have the genuine volvo part number?

what causes all of the different prices besides the blue box?

fcp has a genuine: $4 each

fcp has an aftermarket one that's copper-looking and $.59:

vp has some for $.44:

On 240s, is there a site to see all of the places where these lock nuts are used?

I might just order a big ol' bag of the copper ones

You can enter the part number on GCP's site and it will display all the catalogs that the part number is in. Click on a catalog and it will show all the pages in that catalog that that part number appears on.

The copper coated nuts are usually used for exhaust.

I'd just pick up some M8 flange head nuts from your favorite hardware store for that application. :e-shrug:

Something like this:

Or you can order the "top lock" type similar to the OEM nuts:
