I have a 92 740 with non-fog headlights. Converted the front end from a 940 with fogs.
Replaced the foglight switch.
Put foglights relay in (original volvo one)
Everything works great except the foglights...
When I hit the switch, fuse No.19 burns out, left low beam stop working.
The rear fog works fine.

what is it?!

thanks for any help!

If you're handy with a multimeter use the continuity tester mode and test different parts of the wiring. Can't really help out much more than that

^This.
Multimeter, test leads, test lights and a Haynes/Chilton manual are all tools a TBer should have standard in their tool box.

thank you.
I have the electronic diagrams of the car and VADIS software, should be helpful.

Found the problem. I bought a sh*ty relay from ebay.

Swapped it with the high beam relay and it worked fine.
Can using non original volvo relays cause damage?

No, just heartache for the end user. Relays are generally something you don't want to skimp on/be cheap about. Glad to hear you found the problem. So it's working the way you want it now?
