![]() Ok so the paint has cured and the cross member is back in. I pulled the servo off and need to get that bulk head plate out but this may have to wait until the dash comes out for flocking.
![]() The workshops latest edition, A little MIG. Its excellent! I got it at a bargain price and its still in warranty. ![]() This sticker is staying... ![]() |

![]() Good stuff, they should give you a massive improvement. I wanted to go larger than the rx7 callipers with this, but I'm restricted by my choice of wheels (16")
What will you be doing for the master cylinder? |

![]() Further peeling back of the 240, it just feel like I'm going backwards at the moment.
![]() Wont be needing this ![]() The dash board is waiting to go to be flocked along with a few other items. There is a company 5 minutes from me that do it so I couldn't say no. ![]() I acquired a mk2 focus ST fuel pump from work which will be ideal as a lift pump as its got a built in strainer and fuel level sensor. ![]() External fuel pump, and the post pump filter (which I may have urrr, damaged slightly... that may require some weld on fittings rather than threaded) EDIT: Resolved. ![]() I'm going to see if I can find some one who can supply me with sheet aluminium, then ill get cracking on the fuel tank. ![]() ![]() I spent some time cleaning up the bulk head, luckily I had a rattle can that matched the discoloured white paint in the engine bay. ![]() Tidied up the plate that bolts in, I wanted to get it abit smoother but my grinder has packed up so I had to do what I could with sand paper. ![]() |

![]() Cool beans!! What fuel pumps are you using? I got an AEM 320 LPH intank pump and i have deleted the inline, but it is an amazing pump with plenty of useablility for the future fuelling improvements ;)

![]() I'm using the in tank OE lift pump assembly from a focus ST mk2 and the external sytec version of the bosch 044.

![]() The block is now home with a closed deck. Not for long though, its off to a local machine shop to be bored for the new pistons.

![]() The engine has now gone to my local machine shop to be bored out for the pistons, have the crank polished and various other bits I wanted checking before its built up. It may take a few weeks there rather busy.
I have 2 weeks off work now so I can kill off some of the other big jobs on this brick. I'm going to be using rear coil overs on this but I am moving away from the standard damper location. I attempted to order some that would fit in the original damper location but waited 3 months and nothing arrived so I pulled out. Instead I am going to be following a similar route to the mk1 & 2 escort rally guys and make a pair of turrets/towers and weld them to the arches then mount the coil over inboard on the axle to get it out the way of the wheels. Couple of benefits with this is again universal fitment of springs and I can use longer or shorter body dampers depending on what I'm doing with the car. Also the axle mounting point will be 2 lugs giving a double shear mount rather than the single shear in the original location. I spoke with another member and he offered lots of great info on doing this (cheers johnV) Anyway I had nothing to bend the steel so I made this up, just need to get some decent sheet steel and start working out exactly how im going to shape the turret to fit. Cheers. ![]() ![]() ![]() Some scrap for a test run... ![]() ![]() |

![]() I hope everyone has had a great Christmas!
The 240 got plenty shiny's. I haven't been able to do much due to the weather so I gave the headlight assemblies a freshen up. ![]() ![]() ![]() The majority of the nuts were siezed when it came to removing the headlights so I repaired the studs while I had them in pieces. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Some other bits for later on. ![]() ![]() |
