Rim Question

I have been talking to a member on the board for a little bit about getting a missing rim I need for my set borbets type e's. ET is the same size and width is the same as well as far as I can tell the only thing off so far is the bolt pattern as my wheel is 115 and his is 114.3 would this make the hub a different size and what is the best way to measure accurately as I am buying this rim instead of an external wastegate I wanted and want to make sure it will work. Thanks. Wheel guru's I hope you chime in as I really love these wheels.

google "measuring bolt pattern" ... pictures and videos explaining the process, some use math, others have charts.

i understand but my question pertains more towards the difference of .7 on the one wheel make a huge difference with bolt spacing although i know i could bore the hub ring but as far as adapters being for 115 and 3 being 115 and one being 114.3

One of 2 things are going to happen.

When you tighten down the lug nuts, the studs will bend .014" inboard....

or

When you tighten down the lug nuts, you will not have 100% seat engagement between the lug nut taper and the wheel taper.

Will it work, yes, but not optimal and not something I would do.

It is possible to get the holes welded up and redrilled

Just about anything is possible with the right checkbook. But re-drilling the hub is pretty straightforward - no welding required. If you meant welding/re-drilling the wheel - depends on the wheel. You gotta want that particular wheel pretty badly to go through that. And the design of some wheels just won't allow it. Not to mention they should probably be heat treated again after the welding...

I think what the poster is asking is would there be a problem running 3 - 114.3 adapters and 1 - 115 adapter. If that is indeed the question - shouldn't be a problem. Mueller has described the issues with running a 115 wheel on a 114.3 adapter. Similar to running a 4.25" on a 108mm.... People do it. I wouldn't.

Yeah some designs are hard to do that with...I've got a mate who works at a shop specialising in wheels, he welds up and redrills wheels quite often.
Usually though it is on Hotwires or beanholes and the like which all have a fairly easy area to work with...

What about a wobble bolt? I was wary of them at first but they're TUV tested...

5x115? What kind of car?
