Considering the structure, some have made pick-ups. Ambulance, hearse, camper in this case.
More concerned with lateral strength, i would leave the sides as the camper is narrow enough. But, its a bit tall. 6? height, 6? wide @ height. 1200 lbs 2 piece, glass-fibre?
Not sure how to tie in the 2-piece camper. Some metal beams connecting the 2 halves welded to the body of 7xx
 
I mean I too have thought about this conversation, (to a 240, I have standards) but this post all by itself in a build thread makes no sense? Am I missing something here...
 
Are you picturing something similar to a slide in bed camper sitting between the trimmed sides of a 740?

I think poorly photoshopped examples would really help
 
I am poor at photoshop
I also have a 5th wheel plate, and oddly, about the correct height.

I like the ?slide-in? idea better, but?
