If you are doing capacitive discharge ignition (coil-near-plug) and you have DOHC, how do you get to the spark plugs (Without coil-on-plugs)?

Coil near plug as you call it is not capacitive discharge. There is a short spark plug lead that goes from the coil to the spark plug. Like on an LS V8 where the coils are mounted near the plugs on top of the valve cover.

As dl242gt points out, coil near plug is not capacitor discharge. Capacitor discharge is primarily a two stroke technology used to fire through partially fouled spark plugs or on engines using stratified or very lean burn fuel mixtures that need a multiple fire ignition system to ignite hard to ignite fuel mixes.

DOHC engines predate coil on plug technology by more than 1/2 a century. If you search around for DOHC engines that predate 1990 it should be easy to find the extended spark plug boots that are required to fit down into the well around the spark plug. Toyotas, Alphas, some Fiats and a whole pile of others had DOHC engines without coil on plug that could be donor candidates. Get a suitable boot and a length of spark plug wire and you can put your coil near plug wherever you want.

Edit: These might do the trick, if not there are lots of other options:

Yes, those integra plug wires from vmsracing are what i was looking for. I didnt want to snake a plug wire down the tube because of heat and chemicals.
And yes, i am planning to use capacitive discharge ignition. The coils will not be on the plugs. So, maybe im just using the wrong terminology.

Thanks for the input
