![]() Can you just bolt a plate to the bottom of the seats and redrill holes in the right spots?

![]() The four bolts for on the seat bottom are slightly sunken compared with the rest of the seat by like 1/2 an inch. I could probably put spacers on the back side then a plate and probably have almost enough room to bolt it all together. That's the best idea so far, thanks!

![]() Anyone have a measurement for the raised hump under the seats? I'm not sure the speedway universal mounts have enough height to clear it.

![]() Not sure if this helps, but I modified a set of BMW 5 series seats to fit in my 82 245. The rear bracket design might help with your setup, I'm not quite sure on a 140, as I never swapped seats in my 145, so I'm not that familiar with the differences in seat mounts between the 240 and 140.

![]() Those seats look awesome! I think the 140 floor is a little different though. Here is a picture of the hump thing I am talking about. It runs from the outer frame rail to the transmission tunnel and it approx 3 or 4 inches high.
Those universal mounts show an overall height of 5 inches. I want to order them today but I need to measure the hump to make sure they will clear it. |

![]() Hopefully by the end of the weekend, just need to drill some holes and it should be ready to go. Can't thank Keith enough for the link to these sliders and brackets.
Your seats look awesome though. I was going to go that route until these Recaros came along in precisely the right shade of brown. |

![]() So I never measured the width of the seats and tonight when I put the sliders on the brackets tonight they were way to narrow. Luckily it will be really easy to mount the top brackets to the stock sliders. I guess thats probably why Keith just sent me a link to that portion of the kit. Live and learn, should have them mounted tomorrow!

![]() I just came back from some 'spirited' driving and would have really appreciated some of that side bolstering!

![]() Took a little shakedown run this evening. I have been battling a valve cover seal oil leak, so I wanted to make sure that was behind me before taking the car for a longer drive with Nora this weekend. It looks like its all good but I think I will still order a new one from IPD just to be safe.

![]() When I first bought the car I justified it by telling myself that we could use the car to shoot up to wine country after it was running better. Today we fulfilled my dream and put about 200kms on the car up to Los Alamos and around the Santa Ynez valley. It did great and the seats are awesome for longer trips!
![]() After this drive I am fully tempted to drive up to IPD later this month... |
