2023 SE Brick Boil! March 24-26 2023

Still gonna be there but probably gonna be in my E55. The floor in the 122 looks good enough that I want to keep fixing stuff while the car is apart in lieu of the usual program.

What’re the chances if I bring all my MS stuff I can drive home on that instead of LH?

I’ve got the MS, all of the sensors, and I can terminate wires, but I’m quite stupid and want a lot from my +T on FT.
Still planning on coming. Bringing a co-driver that's cool.

Having some trepidation about the MS, though. We'll probably flip a coin for what we drive come the morning we leave. Still planning to get to the area Thursday evening.

anyone other than sam *not* interested in crawfish(or perhaps have a shellfish allergy, etc)? order goes in monday morning, after that I dunno that I can easily add saks.

Drive the one that will make it there and back.
Not that repairs haven't been pulled off, It's no fun renting a u-haul truck to get back.

Below freezing in the gump according to the weather app. I hope the bees are warm.
Looks like back to 60f overnight for the weekend.
What time do the dragstrip festivities begin?

I imagine a departure from the house around 4 or 4:30, but I need to see when the gates open at the track I reckon.

yeah probably looking at leaving the house around 4:30 to carve out space at the track for our motley assortment.
Pricing info has changed (I think at least):
Spectators: $15
Test & Tuners(racing): $25

this is hot off the presses on their site, so should be good info. I've updated the first post with my address and the track's address. Depending on what folks are doing/want to do, we can dip early and get dinner somewhere on the way home, etc. yall throw ideas (if we do want to do that, we oughta plan on rolling out from the track around 8-815 to give enough time to get somewhere and not hem them up a la steak n shake ca 2004)

Alright. 5 saks ordered. #bigtime (actually that was tues)

Mike of the P has made a decision for dinner friday night.. and it's not a bad one.
We're going to plan to skip out around 8pm from the dragstrip and head over to So Gong Dong

So Gong Dong Tofu & BBQ (소공동)
1633 Eastern Blvd, Montgomery, AL 36117

Great Korean food, and also some of the more normal things for those less adventurous.
Given the rain friday night (still listed at less than 1/3in and 73% chance), I suppose if folks wanted to camp that's fine.. I'd probably set up somewhere in the woods.. so you'd want to get here early enough to clear branches, etc. on friday.

Otherwise, we can break up and go separate ways post-dinner, or yall can come over and hang for a bit, whatever folks want to do. Dealer's choice.

Saturday the plan is to get the party started around 10am (the dyno portion at least) and put fire to water around 12-1, and continue straight on til dawn (...relatively speaking lol). I'll probably light the grill around the same time as well for that part of the crowd. Will tentatively say that no need to roll over before 9ish, and really probably no real need (unless you want to line up for the rollers... that's cool too) before 10.

Anyway, updates from this point forward will get sporadic since I'm behind schedule (as always) on various things. First post is updated with the big info, and I'll paste the friday night food plans in there as well.

Well, dang. Drove through there yesterday on the way home from spring break in Navarre. IF we hadn't had foreign exchange kids with us, and I'd have paid attention, I could have stopped in.

Drew and I got to Mooresville around 12:30am sat, I left at 10am to deliver parts and wander home. Took 77 to 81 to 64, then cross-country to Mount Vernon VA before heading across the bay. I85 can still suck it.

Made it home yesterday at about 3pm. The car started giving me a single pop when leaving a stop, I didn't think too much about it. Figured I'd check it out when I got home.

I discovered that one of the torque rod bolts had disappeared, I guess during the axle hop at the track. Oh well, all's well that ends well. Threw another bolt in there, tightened it up, ran around and checked the other suspension bolts, and we'll call it good for another few months.

It was great seeing everyone. Crawfish and conversation were excellent.
