Hello Guest, welcome to the initial stages of our new platform! You can find some additional information about where we are in the process of migrating the board and setting up our new software here
I'll probably hit it with a ball hone first and see how bad it is. Nothing to lose there I guess. Gotta also check clearances on the piston too. Who knows, the piston might be screwed up.
Well, that is foreboding. Thoughts on how to proceed? My worry is low compression on that cylinder running it as is. Might clean up with a hone as a hail mary. With that story the local machinist may become rather familiar with redblocks.
Got an engine recently, everything looks great mechanically with one hiccup that worries me. I was inspecting the bores more closely and found something that running my fingers along the bores didn't catch.
Scoring on the wall in one spot. Barely perceptible by running my hand over it. Doesn't...
The first couple spots aren't bad. Should be easy to cut back to clean metal and weld in small patches. With the larger bits from underneath and poking up into the interior I'd wager more is hiding.
Cut it out, weld in new, POR 15 for safety. It is a floor patch that is relatively small, so...
That has been my go to for transmission mounts on the last couple cars. Even if I go with normal motor mounts the decrease in shifter movement is nice.
So did this solve the clunk issue? I have started getting a clunk and some vibration taking away in first. Also some when coming to a stop from highway speeds.
I've got a mystery cam and am looking for any information about it.
Stamped "DELONG 7602-20".
Measuring the base circle and the top of the lobe I get the following measurements for estimating lift.
Base circle: 1.004"
Peak of the lobe: 1.338"
Peak-base * 1.5 = 0.501"
I have that spacer, it just wouldn't go in because the last guy had bent the ears. So I had to unbend them to fit the spacer in. A drift and a big hammer straightened them out.
Went to go replace my rear trailing arm bushings and when I went to go put the brace between the two "ears" it wouldn't fit, upon closer inspection it would appear that the ears are bent. Thoughts on how to proceed? It looks like it is this way on both sides, makes me kind of wonder if my tool...
