1987 245 burn victim engine swap and build

Haven’t updated this in abit but I went and did a +t on the original 250k mile engine and trans. Used lh2.2 740 turbo parts for most of it besides injectors and upgrading the wastegate actuator that’s set to 11ps, it went together pretty easily and with out a fight. I recently decided the...

Just because it can handle 600hp doesn’t mean it’ll make 600hp. There just isn’t enough flow for 400-500hp in a 8v, to get anywhere near that you’ll have to spend a lot a lot of money. But for 300hp idk something like a gt28 or around that size

You probably won’t hit 400hp on a 8v unless you fully open it and make it undriveable on the street. 250-300hp is more realistic with a bigger turbo, head studs maybe, cam, injectors and at that point you’re risking the transmission blowing up

Made the latch to fold down the second row seats after I broke mine. Haven't tested with the trim piece that clips in but im pretty confident it'll work.

1987 245 burn victim engine swap and build

Well the 16v as I figured wasn't a "running" engine I think it sat for to long or just had to much gunk built up in the intake valve guides causing them to get stuck. The valves aren't bent but are not in the condition to be reused. Pistons look great just need to pull them and give them a good...

1987 245 burn victim engine swap and build

Oh also totally forgot I picked up a “running” b234f for $500 to steal the 16v head off of. My plan is to swap the b230ft from the burn victim into the 245 then build that engine original out of the 245. I want to use the engine out of my 245 because it’s a center thrust engine and I just so...

1987 245 burn victim engine swap and build

Fully finished the s60r swap and im pretty happy with it. Brakes feel a little sensitive but im getting used to it. while i was doing the brake swap decided to throw sts's rear spherical axle bushing in and let me say it feels great, i have to drive it more but it seems to have improved rear...

1987 245 burn victim engine swap and build

Little update Still haven't fixed my ac despite it just being literally one bolt and a connector to pull the clutch off and replace it with a good one. But I did start doing my s60r brake conversion and suspension refresh in preparation for autocross. Also put a Scheel mann Bucket seat from the...

1987 245 burn victim engine swap and build

Finally doing a thread for my second build Background: I built a b230ft to put in a 1990 244 and after driving it for about 3 weeks it decided to commit seppuku and catch fire. So I bought a 245 to take the engine from the burn victim and put that engine in it, why the fire started: I believe...
