Hey everyone,
I’m having a tough time registering my ‘70 145S in Idaho due to the VIN on the door frame being illegible.
Does anyone know if there’s an additional place on the body where the VIN may be stamped?
Thanks!
Remember my earlier post about the bad transmission mount? Here’s a picture in case you forgot or don’t want to scroll back (hey I don’t judge):
Yeahhhh, that mount entirely failed and dropped the transmission onto the crossmember. Luckily, the coolant return pipe didn’t break when it got...
I’ve been seeing the banjo bolt comments, that’ll be included in my next parts order.
While replacing the vacuum line in my last update helped the idle a little, the car was still have stumbles and RPM drops at stoplights - it even stalled on our way home from dinner last night, yuck...
In my opinion, a good place to check for engine bay reference pictures is actually Bring-A-Trailer. Detailed pictures of a cleaned and tidy engine bay have helped me a few times now. Good luck!
The weather's been great here in Boise, so we've been enjoying the XC90 with the sunroof open and windows down. However, I began noticing a slight hissing sound coming from the engine bay. After getting home, I found a collapsed vacuum line. I'm assuming the rest of the lines are degrading too...
XC90 has been great - yeah, I know it's only been like a day... gotta enjoy it while it lasts.
Our BMW X3 sold after just a couple hours online. Cleaned up nice. I'll miss those quirky Terracotta seats.
XC70 is up for grabs.

I bet the tires still have a good 15,000 miles left. :-P
Seeing the extensive dry rot and a manufacture date of 2003 (but hey, they held air!), I realized I needed to find a solution before taking the car out on main roads. I don't plan to do any autocross or crazy canyon...

The Weber was already struggling to keep the car running long enough to limp onto the trailer in Oregon, so once we got home to Idaho's higher elevation and sub-10F degree temperatures, the car wouldn't start at all.
While I ordered a Weber 32/26 rebuild kit and sorted out my...
I’ve been getting some excellent feedback from this thread, thanks everyone!
Also, I have no idea how I missed it when I bought the car, but this is only front-wheel-drive, not all-wheel-drive. I guess I assumed all XC90s were AWD? Oh well, not a big deal. Maybe I’ll get slightly better MPG as...
