Hello Guest, welcome to the initial stages of our new platform! You can find some additional information about where we are in the process of migrating the board and setting up our new software here
I almost forgot one last important tidbit....THE ORIGINAL HOOD CLOSES!!! I'm still getting used to having a stock hood again after 4 years of the black hood with a hole in it. but it does look so clean with it on. I need to get my bumper repaired AGAIN after the accident a few Christmas' ago...
I converted to electric power steering so I could relocate my 145amp alternator and run the ls6 intake. This wasn't super hard I got about 5 feet of braided PTFE line, some pushlock hose for the return and a bunch of an6 fittings along with a m16 to an6 banjo fitting and a m14 to an6 banjo...
Swapping the alternator to a lower location was straight forward but I did have to drill and tap a hole on the block for the new mounting point. Not all LS blocks need that but mine did. After test fitting everything I found that the belt that ICT Billet suggested was to short and went with a...
Ok, so its been a few months since I've updated this. I've done a few things since December, if you follow me on insta you likely have seen most of this. So I'm going to post a few updates but you may get them spaced out instead of all at once since I'm doing all this before the house wakes...
I did not notice a difference right away but when I pulled the old one out the bushings had all worn in a twisting pattern. I have a feeling the trailing arm would start warping pretty soon after that.
congratulations on the new home! its really lovely, my wife's friends keep trying to get us to move east and most of the homes they have shown us are 1 car garages that look more like 1/2 car storage sheds. a carriage home is a solid find in my book
hopefully there are some breaks in the...
damn you need one of those dish space heaters otherwise everything will go into hibernation mode. Also the cord protectors for Christmas lights are great to keep moisture away from the sockets....
I got my temperature sensor working after realizing that I needed a hose barb adapter to go from the Volvo 5/8 at the firewall to whatever it was at the water pump. it was pretty simple after that, I made a T fitting with the appropriate sized hose barb connected the hoses and installed the...
I think I like them but for me I'd just cut out the volvo logo, shave the valve covers and then either use high temp adhesive or have the logo welded onto the valve covers. which is prob the same amount of work as getting those machined to just cover the plugs.
FYI didn't realize I was so close to page 9.... I just posted a few seconds before this one...
Oh I almost forgot... so last week I was driving home with the 740 and heard a loud metallic thunk and thought maybe I was really stupid and left one of my 1/2 drive sockets in the engine bay when...
Few updates to show, and I'm sure I might be missing some other things I've done
OEM Volvo Tach Setup -
I got my tach to display the correct RPM direct from the GM PCM without using a converter like Dakota digital. Both my current stock cluster and the cluster for my gas tank upgrade are...
very nice start, honestly there are days that I want to throw a cam and heads at the 740 and be done with that, the stock form v8 wakes this thing up in ways that always makes me smile. But there is something about a spool-up of a turbo or the whine of a supercharger on a v8 that you just can't...
oh god, I hated the instructions they provide for those cameras. my new goto is to trash em and just hook them up the same as the rest, and if something isn't working then maybe dig it out of the trash to see if I missed something. so far I'm 10/10. I really should get around to installing...
yeah I think once I knew I had everything to start it took around a month of actually working on it every night to get to running status. the thing that took the longest was the driveshaft.
