Hello Guest, welcome to the initial stages of our new platform! You can find some additional information about where we are in the process of migrating the board and setting up our new software here
If they are "foggy", due to a moisture/condensation issue, then very likely the original glue has already let go and the lens will practically fall off when you pull the headlight unit out.
Had a similar experience when I installed my E-codes a few weeks ago. No issues on the passenger side, but the driver side was a bit of a bear.
I ordered some proper Ecode signal lights from Sweden a while back. Had to switch a couple wires around on the signal light harness before everything...
Hello all.
Replaced my swiss cheese header downpipe today. Everything came apart fairly well, but putting everything back together was a challenge. Old bolts were very rusty and had a real lousy time trying to find bolts today, so ended up putting the old ones back in.
As for the catalytic...
Had pretty much the same issue on the wife's Mazda 6 Wagon, though not sure if it will apply to your XC70.
Turns out it was a flaky relay for the A/C compressor. Swapped it out with the identical horn relay and everything works fine.
Ordered the Robert DIY seal installation tools when I did mine a few years ago. Am happy with my purchase. Used genuine volvo seals.
No leaks yet.

Thanks all for the great responses all.
1. I do have a spare cluster, but from a different year (speedo doesn't work). IIRC, the temp gauge wasn't working
2. I did the in tank pump about 4-ish years ago, maybe 5. Kept the orginial float ball. That being said, the original float ball is 32...
So, took the 240 (a 92, btw) to the gym today. Fuel gauge was sitting at about 1/3 tank.
Shortly after leaving, it dropped down to the red "reserve" portion of the tank. Quick side trip to Chevron and it took 35 litres. After the fill up, the needle is probably about 7/8 of the way full...
For you O2 sensor code, check fuse 4 for corrosion. My 92 was throwing out the same code and a quick spin and clean of fuse 4 cleared it.
For the stumbling, check to see that there aren't any pin holes in your intake hose.
Any recommendations on the best way to clean a later (89+) instrument cluster? Starting to get that strange haze/fuzz on mine as seen in the picture.
Planning to pull the cluster to fix an odometer gear/reset button/bulbs and would like to take care of it while it's out.
Thanks.
1992 240 Wagon. Non ABS.
Instrument cluster in my 240 needs some attention. Odometer gear, trip odometer reset, light bulbs, etc.
I found an older (r0.980) cluster in the crawlspace that I had forgotten about. I know the speedometer won't work, but can I use that older one and keep the car...
Noticed the wipers on my 1992 240 are acting up a bit. Read through the CleanFlameTrap write up on wipers and am still a bit puzzled. Here's a rundown of the symptoms:
1. Wipers operate normally on slow and fast speeds
2. On the interval setting, wipers just operate normally on slow
3. When...
Kind of an odd question, but what's the biggest full size spare anyone has fit in the spare tire well of a 240 wagon while being able to use the cover?
Planning on adding a full size spare mounted on a Virgo.
Thanks
Looking at installing a couple accessory gauges into my 240 (Volts and Oil Pressure), but only have the bare gauges with no light sockets.
Does anybody know if any of the VDO replacement sockets will fit?
Thanks
Hello TB,
Before I cash in my Rockauto discount on some new struts, quick question: any issues with Sachs Turbo Gas struts mounted in tubes with the welded in spacer?
It's for a 92 240.
Thanks
Timing belt is coming up soon, and I'm planning on replacing the front seals while I'm in there. I've already purchased new seals from my local Volvo dealer.
Any thoughts on seal installation tools? Or can you get by without them?
