004 EZK [B23FT] Mystery Gray/Red Wire

I am in the midst of converting my 82 244T to LH 2.1/EZK. I am using a 2.0 harness [extended MAF, added injector resistor pack] and I am currently splicing in a Dave Barton EZK harness meant for a 2.2 car, but depinned. The 004 EZK has a special, 1 year only 15 pin connector. I have the original connector shell with a pigtail, and so far inspecting the wires they match up with the connector [besides it saying #6 twice, it should say #9 for the wire to the ICU] but my connector has a grey/red wire on terminal #10

So far I have all but squared away what wires go to which pins on the connector for the 004. My only thing is there is an additional gray/red wire on the old pigtail that is not identified on the diagram

2.2 EZK's [Turbo] had an enrichment wire for the ECU when it would knock according to the directions with Barton's kit. Not sure if this one did

Just trying to make it functionally and visually identical for the BAR ref.

From TP30800 https://web.archive.org/web/20161107212009/http://volvowiringdiagrams.com/?dir=volvo/740 Wiring Diagrams

Look at pdf page 159 (162 of 174), grid L5, and it shows the EZK pin 10 GR-R going to component 224. pdf page 41 shows 224 as a screw-in 2-prong radiator temperature sensor, and the part # lookup (pg 154) says: 224 Electric Cooling Fan Thermal Switch.

So it sounds like it triggers the small fan in front of the AC condenser?

If that’s the case, I will probably leave it out for simplicities sakes since it won’t really affect the operation of the ignition system.

I think it's a separate temperature switch just for the EZK, and can probably be left out. IDK if the the switch is open when cold, or closed when cold. I'd expect that one side of the switch is grounded, but I didn't search the greenbook to see if I could find that.

Since I never planned to install a condenser fan anyways, I will just leave it out. If the ref does not certify the swap because I am leaving an AC part out I will literally start packing to leave this state.

Appreciate you digging that up, I could not find any info in the greenbook pdf I have.
