Had a nice little gathering at the house last week, and they set the dates for the events for next year, so I'm planning ahead. This year was a fun BBQ and an insane Saturday of 4 shows and little rest. 51 weeks to go and I'm ready to do it again right now.

Friday 14 August 2026 BBQ at my house 5pm-whenever.

Saturday AM is Concours d'Lemons and the big Cars and Coffee, mid-day is Exotics on Broadway, and PM is MMF, so it's a full day.
Sunday is Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

If you are interested in attending the BBQ or any Car Week events next year, let me know. I often come across discounted or free tickets for the pay events and may be able to hook you up.

So mark your calendars, save your money, and plan on having a good time. If you are curious about cost hit me up and we can talk. There's a lot of free events to see, and a few that are worth the price.

I’ll plan for this, since i will be retired. I’ll update as it gets closer. Thanks ye kindly.
I hope you can make it, it's a lot of fun. Exhausting, but fun. And you can meet my OTHER car people, while I love my Volvo people, I have toes in the water of other groups too.

Right around 5 months until this years BBQ, and might be rearranging the schedule a bit. Friday afternoon is some of the best car spotting in the area, so we might do something at the house and take the rest on the road. That all depends on who is here this year, last year we had a good turnout of some great people I haven't seen in ages.

Everyone is welcome, just don't bring any MAGAt shit to my house. Keep the neighborhood quiet and respectful, but we will have a good time. I've already invited/warned the neighbors next door, nobody behind me, and the people across the street won't mind.

Lodging is limited, got a guest room (I think the bed is claimed), but there's floor and backyard campground available. Bring your own towels and toiletries. Food for the BBQ will be provided as always, but bring your own beverage. I always have something to drink here if you only want a single, but otherwise bring your own.

Keep in mind EVERYTHING is crowded here during the events, but there's lots to see for FREE. I also usually can score some passes to various events, so I'll make those available as they come my way. Anyone who wants to see the aquarium, I have guest passes for 2 people at a time to go for free ($50-60 per adult normally).

If you want to stick around for Saturday, I go to MMF every year (my friends event), and plan to attend again this year. Often I have passes to get everyone in, but there may be expense associated.

Sunday is Concours. I will either be there or at MMF helping tear down. Plan ahead for the pay events, and talk to me about the free events.

And hopefully this year I won't be spread so thin so I can actually spend some time with the people who came all this way.

We will be in Canada eh, 30 years married, Went to Grand Manan Island for our honeymoon, will spend 3 weeks there, camping and B&B stay. See you in Sept.

Or maybe fly into Oakland, get drunk and ride the BART into San Francisco and figure it out from there.

I would like one of those half-off aquarium tickets. I wanna look for some sea otters from the lookout point!

I signed my retirement forms. July 1 i am no longer in charge of the youts of murrika.
If I can make it to Eric’s this year, i’ll pick yinz up and you can ride shotgun.

I looked into flights and it was anywhere from $340 to $427 round trip. Cheaper being if I fly into Monterey on a Wed. Otherwise, it looks to be about $400+ whether I land in SFO, OAK, San Jose, or Monterey.

I usually like to rent a car, I may take you up on a ride. I like taking the BART under the water into SF. It is LOUD as you slam along at 80 mph under the bay. Last time I got lost coming back when I had to transfer in Oakland. That station has like 5 underground levels with trains shooting different directions and I ended up going inland instead of south.

Badvolvo residence, Aquarium, car shows, San Fran, buddy in Monterey, buddy in SF..... I gotta submit for PTO by the end of the month so this may happen.

We have 2x aquarium passes we can share for guests, no charge, one person per day. $60/adult is normal entry fee, so it's a big savings if anyone wants to go.

May or may not have a viable spare vehicle when people come, but there's always something to drive if you don't have a rental.

Back yard is getting some work, new outdoor dining table under the cover, and new outdoor couch and chairs. Griddle and BBQ will be put to use and we will all be eating well. I'm looking forward to having some people at the house again.
