15 Aug 2025, BBQ at the BADVLVO abode

9 months out and I’m ready to do this.

I’ll be bumping this and getting a head count when we get close.

I hope the neighbors are ready for this.
 
been gone for a long time, but maybe for me, without the Volvo, if there's a space to crash (Im ok tenting in the back yard)
 
Ocean Speedway has not released their schedule for next season but likely I will be racing my hobby stock the night of the 15th if y’alls want to head 30 minutes north.

Some may take the drive. I'm up at 0500 to prep start loading into an event on Sat AM, so staying home myself. Come down if you aren't racing!
 
Some ground rules, this is my home, respect it or get thrown the fuck out and publicly dragged for eternity. Look up 740TANKDRIVER if you want to see how not to act in my home, and how that will work out for you. You will respect my home.

This isn't a rental or some cheap dump, so we will be asking everyone to keep things tidy. Pick up after yourself, don't track wet/dirty shit into my house, don't smoke tobacco inside (herb in the garage please), and don't do anything that will piss off my neighbors.

As always, I will provide food and drink free of charge. If you don't like what I'm cooking, there are plenty of local options for your dining pleasure. If you have dietary restrictions or food allergies, let me know in advance and I will plan ahead.

Burgers, chips/salsa, hot dogs, and whatever variety of vegetables I can grill will be served. If you are vegetarian I will have some portabello caps in the refer to throw on the grill for you. If you want something different, there will be a grill and griddle available in the back yard.

I have a 2nd refer in the garage, beverages can be chilled there, no need for a lot of coolers.

Parking is very limited in my driveway, I will likely have our cars in the driveway so you will be on the street. Don't sleep in your car in my 'hood, the local police already don't like me.

My dog lives here, this is Sprinklers house too. If you are allergic or don't like dogs, best you don't attend. Anyone disrespecting my dog in any way will be removed from the gene pool with prejudice.

Don't fuck with my landscaping. If you want a cutting, ask, or I may just do some cutting myself. We have recently transplanted much of the landscape and it will take a couple years for it to grow in, I don't need anyone messing that up. There's A LOT of open space with DG in the back, a couple decks in the back and one in the front.

And DO NOT work on your car on the street here, the PD and neighbors will not be happy. If you need space there may be some driveway available.

I may be storing a couple exotic cars in the driveway at night for some people, do not touch without explicit permission.

Last is fucking hygiene, I get that you may be road tripping for a couple days, but if you stink you will be put outside.

OK, really last now, Monterey Motorsport Festival is owned by my friend Paolo. It's at the Fairgrounds on Saturday afternoon/night. I recommend attending if you can, it's a great time. I may be giving rides in something interesting (exotic) if I have time before the event.



Now that stuff is covered, keep this on your calendar.

As much as I'd like to, the constraints set forward here make me hesitant to come by. We've been friends for a long time, and my political leanings have never changed, and I don't think yours have either, but now it seems like a big point of contention, and I'd hate to inadvertently cause a problem.

You and I have been friends for a long time now, and you and I can have polite discourse, you would never disrespect my home. It is a point of contention with many, because so many have decided to lean fully into the current situation.

Consider coming down for this, or for any other time you want to visit. Language here is used to make it clear that we will not deal with any bullshit at my house, I don't want to scare off the good people.
 
UPDATE: Saturday AM I will be attending Concorso Italiano, and expect to have additional tickets at half or more off. That means Saturday will be an early morning, and a LONG day. Lemons show, then to Concorso, then the track, then Monterey Motorsports Festival. Some of you may want to do other events, that's fine, but expect to vacate the house very early on Saturday.
