16v with DCOE Webers - what to use for ignition/distributor

I have their Bluetooth distributor on the B20. It’s pretty nice. And the app makes doing any change you want super fast and easy. Not to mention the better idle quality over the factory ignition system.
I've been very tempted to go for one of their programmable systems now that I have a motor that deviates from stock.

Could you put a pertronix ignition module in the shortened distributor?
Microsquirt would be the next easiest. Just set up a RPM based ignition table, and use a 60-2 crank trigger and OEM VR sensor. You could also just use the CAS, but there's trade-offs with that as well.
Yes you can. I just did this with a penta distributor for DCOEs on an 8V B23. Clearance is quite close but functional and nearly as simple as it gets(points require 1 less wire lol).

Not that I necessarily think it's the best option but there was EZK with knock control on the B2xxE/K. It seems to use the distributor for engine position.

And you can run an ignition module with the points and no condenser. Toyota did that for a while. HEI module would be my choice.
GM four contact HEI module will trigger with the kjet distributor. It draws a lot of current so you'll want to use a relay on the module power supply wiring.

Yes, a short kjet distributor with mechanical advance since the module doesn't handle advance only the coil switching.
Can the curve be changed on the kjet distributor?

If sticking with points is there an issue with new points or should one try and find NOS points?

The curve is adjusted with the mass of the weights and how strong or weak the springs are. Usually done on an old time distributor machine so you know what it is doing. I would look for old Bosch Germany points. If you can't find that another brand that used to be good was Standard Parts. They had copper plated points with a felt wiper to lube the distributor.

It definitely was a nice break from digital distraction, but typing out messages was a pain, and the inability to really do group chats was frustrating. The maps functionality never really worked right. Overall great concept just not fully baked. Haven't seen the specs on the 3 yet, not ready to be hurt again 😅
