Oh no shit I didn't realize you'd moved overseas! I'll definitely keep that offer in mind, I see a bunch of the stuff I need on eBay but don't really want to have a dozen different shipments sent and pay twice as much in shipping as I do for parts.

What was the story behind how that wound up here? Why was it missing a cam?

I asked multiple times and all I got was that he "got it at government auction" and that it was for a project that never materialized. Wasn't a Volvo guy at all just had the motor? He didn't take it apart so I have no clue why it's missing bits. The bottom end looks brand new?, head looks rebuild as it's got some stamping and external oil stains but inside looks spotless. Turbo and manifold are brand new, some EGR bits are brand new and others have witness marks but are clean as can be, kinda a mystery.

Ended up getting the roofrack I was eyeing, fits much better than I expected. I do have a third bar but it's missing one clamp so I'll have to make one up before mounting it.


Also acquired one and a half mini split A/C heat pumps, one 9000btu and one 12000btu. Current plan is to mount the pump/radiator assembly to/in the rack and run the lines down to either the passanger rear door (and replace the window with a flat panel w/grommets for this and solar wiring) or the hatch (and again build a replacment solid panel). Learning towards the door option so the hatch panel is still usable.
