"Can I get a wagon dad?"
"No theyre too valuable."
*does $50k dollars worth of restorative labor on a $500 sedan*
the wagons I own are ... two 75s, 84.5 turbo and my 85 16v

50k! I would sell this car for a LOT less

finally got around to installing the door trim. 3M tape, new window scraper from Ken and NOS clips for the stainless. I still need to coat the other door pieces

Gotta say, and this is in no way meant to be critical, but with all those new shiny bits part of me wants to see all the hardware zinc coated or something shiny too.

Nice progress man!

Yeah yeah I know. I think I mentioned it on the first page
I got like two 5 gal buckets that need to go to the local player for yellow zinc

Regardless man, nice work and keep it up! I can't imagine how many parts you have floating around based on how many NOS parts I'm seeing!!

thank you, I got too much crap, hard to get rid of stuff when you think you'll need it... why Im really trying to get cars done

I got a partial order from VP on Friday, waiting on IAC hoses mainly now.

Ordered a seat back from. Foam is nice and the correct size. My only grief with it is that on the back of the seat toward the bottom the original foam was held in place with springs that attach to a built in grid. The VP foam grid did not extend all the way down and there's no way to stretch the springs or use longer ones - it's just the wrong angle .... ALL OF THIS was easy to understand with pictures that I somehow deleted

reinstalled the seat with the new VP back foam

took the other seat apart

new seals from rockauto and ones that go between caliper halves from vp - less then $15 for front calipers

Torque bolts from the outside in. Smaller bolt 40ft lbs. Larger bolt 70ft lbs. I'll coat the passenger side tomorrow

Air always works for me, but it's not fun making sure they all come out evenly (while in various states of being stuck) before splitting the calipers apart.

dude do you have cancer? This post was deep

Those are some of the crustiest rotors I've ever seen
come on thats nothing
They'll be polished by the end of the first freeway off ramp👍🏼
this
not the point. gotta bead blast them before re installing
if I blast them then theyll rust even worse - proper thing would be to blast and ceramic coat the hub and fin portion of them but I wont be doing that on this car :cameron:

NO just too much junk in my trunks and backyard

Blasted the seat frame today (passenger side) and all the factory spotwelds on the main bottom frame had cracks - idk if this is common or not. Frame wasn't loose or anything.

welded it up

reinforced the seat back like I did on the driver side. Driver side Lumbar adjuster bracket was close to my bars so I did it a little different on this side
CfeOGSa.jpg

replaced TREs on both sides (old and new)

The outer came in this box. SUPREME OVERBUILT FOR DURABILITY- It must be great

ziptied the boots back on (replaced one). Left them uncut so I can remember to tighten the lower CAs
