It's funny painting, finding the appropriate screw, fitting and lubing up the window channels in 9020240701_191410.jpg20240701_191514.jpg20240701_193357.jpg degrees at 7:30 pm is enough lol

Slow progress this week, trying to get some virgos painted up and fitted a new hood cable and a coin tray.

Thinking I'll lower it to match the stance the 75 had before I sold it!

Probably going to replace the front brakes with some ATE's and vented rotors, have two front assemblies here to throw on that need very little so that might be the quickest/ easiest way .

Went back to experimental wheel painting, thinking I'm digging the virgos, will have to lower it a bit.

Bit of rain today had the cars looking really decent 😂 wish I could paint them !

The evening was lovely and cool for a change so started stripping the front end.

Have a bumper on the way and I'll maybe just clean up the corner a bit before a quick bit of rust proofing & paint. The fender is hitting the door a bit so a bit of fettling to do !

The bumper is fubared!

New bumper sitting loosely but already a major improvement, I'm in two minds as to whether to repair the spot that's damaged or replace the whole fender on drivers side.20240711_205752.jpg20240711_205928.jpg20240711_205824.jpg

Had zero pedal so I presumed the master had run dry and done in the seals, replaced with an MTC part from ipd.

Just noticed when I had finished bench bleeding the thing that the tank is mounted backwards 😆

Dorman kit had the right fittings !

It butts up against the vacuum valve, I'll siphon out the fluid and flip it later.

Also added the gold powder coated GT braces, looks the shizzle ;)

M8 1.0 30mm bolts for the firewall mount bolts if anyone is ever looking.

Started this weekend with a task I don't want to do. De-accessorizing the ls wagon. Took off the landcruiser rack and my god this thing is built, weighs a damn tonne.

A classic fairlane came up for sale here recently and I realise that if I want anything ls swapped it'll be an older American car. Plus I've too many cars 😂 the w124, 2 242's and a740 wagon are plenty. I'll probably sell a 242 in a few months too.

Fitting a new battery cable to the starter and I think the oil pressure sensor at back of the head is leaking. Fun times!

Figured out the oil leak thanks to a friend's advice, oil pressure sender is kaput.

Decided to give her a wash after fitting some new battery cables, lo and behold it starts and runs really well!

After sitting in it and revving the 6 liter a bit o don't think I can get rid of it 😂

I'm kinda digging the s70 wheels too.

Must get a swap harness into it ,clean up the engine bay and continue work.

God, it's like cooking when drunk, shouldn't paint in the dark 😂

Started stripping the old stuff off and encountered a nice sized wasp's nest, which dropped when I was happening on the tie rod end 😂

Ran back in like a child 😆 20240817_095255.jpg20240817_102316.jpg20240817_103757.jpg

Citrus degreaser and a power washer removes plasti dip in no time flat, the citrus degreaser softens it and lifts the edges, the power washer takes it right off, if stubborn spots persist soak with degreaser and spray again. Plasti Dip is best applied in four heavy costs so it peels up easy, if too thin it wont peel off in sheets.

Looks like a fun mix of cars. The LS wagon looks good with the rack and lights gone, that's a neat paint color too.

Cheers man, yeah it was a lot going on!

New ball joints, new brake lines and need to make some fresh hardline up front, soaked them for 48 hrs and heated and the damn things started twisting anyways so time to snip / flare some new ones.

Makes my heart feel weird looking at people actually being able to do whatever they want to their project cars while mine is locked away and just being neglected lol...

Great work tho!
