1991 240 Trunk Lock (Has non-working lock servo) yet must be connection for key lock

When installing a lock mechanism on 1991 240 trunk, is okay NOT to connect non working lock servo.

I cannot get the key lock to work with the latch if servo is not connected after lock install and latch install. The lock arm thing that turns with the key won't release the trunk latch.

Second time in two years I screwed with the driver side tail light and dropped the key in the truck, then closed it. D'oh.

I think I remember finding this is 1983 245 wagon hatch - the servo helps force the linear motion so the latch gets released properly BUT I did have to fiddle with one of the linkages to get the angle right to make it more consistently open
