Hi I’m not getting any spark to my coils. I’ve replaced ignition amps with known good ones. Won’t start on starter fluid.

Help thanks

Check for power on the green/red wire going to the coils. Power at the coils, ground at the power stages, and the ECU are the only things common between all 6 coils. You could also have a bad crank or cam sensor causing no spark signal from the ECU

obd1 no codes and no cel. The things I've tested so far are, Coils, crank sensor from a 97 (I believe the polarity is switched on those not sure), Borrowed my friends ecu and swapped mine into his running 93 960 sedan and his car fired up with my computer, I'll be testing a cam sensor here shortly.
I have reason to believe the crank position sensor is good because it wouldn't fire the pumps otherwise.
I also confirmed I have fuel at the rail just no spark.

I'm not familiar with 960s or Motronic, but do you have +12v power on the ignition coils with key on and cranking? Maybe there's a bad relay or fuse?

In the Oz Volvo Tech Archive, search for zg14820.pdf and mh14818.pdf - they have the Motronic 1.8 codes and test process.

ETA: I have a copy of TP 3905202 (1994 960 wiring book) in pdf form from somewhere on the web, but it's too big for TB to let me attach it here.

I may have to ask the man in the ice fortress to upload it to our humble tech archive.

I thought the 960 uses a dual output ignition amplifier. Which triggers the individual coils. So I would check out the input and output signals and make sure the power supply and ground is good on that thing.
