1993 Volvo 940T MAF

If MAF is getting any oil on it after engine shut down then no burn off feature is going to help much. The fumes from the crankcase may be emitted for some time and they can travel upstream the air duct to the sensor. Try installing a catch can.
would a b20 vented oil cap make this situation better or worse?

The first 2 I replaced were remanufactured, after that I switched to good used ones. On my second Bosch MAF now. I just cleaned some grime out of the airbox and put a new filter in this past weekend. I got a catch can as well, just need to figure out where I can mount it in the engine bay. So far it has been running really smooth since the recent MAF 2 weeks ago and the clean air box/filter

Just wanted to post an update, I took a trip from Bay Area, CA up to southern Oregon for the 4th weekend in the 940 and it ran beautifully there and back, seems like the clean airbox with new filter and a good used Bosch MAF seems to be working out. Even performed well in the 110 degree heat driving through Redding. Now I gotta get my AC fixed though!
