2.3 NA regina to 2.3 Turbo LH2.4 motor swap

Huh, interesting. I'm picking up a couple of VHF-made 740s in a few weeks, I'll check if they have ABS and airbags. Every time so far I've checked one out that was for sale, they've always had airbags and ABS.

Maybe it's some weird spec stripper car where someone didn't care about safety features and was just a cheapskate ordering their brand new Volvo. Company car, perhaps?

Anyway, good progress on the conversion. Maybe this opens up the option to other Regina car owners in the future if they want performance. I still think that 85% of people would be better off just buying a Turbo car from the get-go.

Good progress!

On my Regina +T I was just going to re-pin my Regina/Rex harness to LH2.4/EZK & add the power stage shielded harness, for all the reasons stated - reversed ABS & battery locations, etc. Since I'm going LS, it's all moot for me.

Well I fired the engine up before I went in for the night. It runs! However,

I have no dome lights or door buzzer, my driver side power window works and the passenger rear one works but in reverse (down is up and up is down) and the passenger window switch locks and unlocks the doors. Not to mention I don't seem to have power going to the blow fan switch and presumably the radio (I haven't put it all back together yet.

So it seems I have some more re pinning to do. But the brake lights and turn signals work, so it's good enough to drive around at least.

Hmmm wait I may have just forgotten to plug the overhead light connector in

It was late and I was tired. And as for the accessory power, that's really not hard to figure out. I'll write up what pins I switch in case someone else's attempts this swap.

Okay its not all 100% yet but it's running weird. It'll pick up randomly. I backed it up the hill and it was floor for like 10 seconds then it was stumbling so much it had to floor it to get it up the hill. Any input?

I'm gonna be putting the exhaust on after work today. The downpipe doesn't reach to the stock wagon exhaust and it's way bigger (3" vs what looks like 2¼"), what I plan on doing is cutting the original exhaust off right before the middle muffler and just running 3" piping to that with a size adapter. Is there any benefits to removing either the middle muffler or the rear muffler?

I want to hear the turbo a little better but I don't want to creat a lot of drone or make it annoyingly loud.

I don't think a double muffler delete will generate a double digit power increase but it might pose less of a restriction.

My 940 turbo's exhaust is basically stock from the cat forward, past that it's basically just a 2.25" straight pipe, into a resonator and then a tailpipe. It makes a little noise but it's not remotely obnoxious, at least compared to the side dump that was on the car when I bought it.

When I first got it home from the exhaust shop, I couldn't even hear it running with the windows down

Hmm okay for now I'll keep both of them and see how I like it. Highway driving is very nice with a stock setup.
