There is an annoying rubber squeaking noise coming from the front right of my 2001 XC70. I jounced the vehicle and the strut rod jumps out of the mount like an inch or two!
It looks like the spring seat has torn. I can see the metal sleeve that broke free from the spring seat rubber. I think I am good on re-using the strut bearing assembly.
I accidently ordered some Chinesium "quick strut" assemblies off ebay for $169/pair, but it looks like they only fit 2003+ XC70. I don't know what is so special and different about the earlier models. The cheapo assemblies don't seem readily available for my 2001 XC70.
I have some Lemforder spring mounts coming in the mail. The nutSachs ones were about the same price.
Let's see what happens in my endeavor into the aftermarket stuff for 2001 Bolbo...
