240 front caliper rebuild

Non-ABS fronts were $50ea (+$30 core) from Autozone. So ~$170 out the door and then you get ~$60 back, so around $105 total out of pocket for the pair with hardware, no pads. I just put a pair on my '93 oddball non-ABS 245.

Bleeder screw holes were all a bit pinched but none were actually mashed shut.

Volvo never sold them but VP does. For some reason they're not listed in the 240 brake section.

No, the rebuild kits I've bought haven't had that crossover seal. They tell you to not take apart the two halves

If you powdercoat the insides of the calipers I bet they stop faster.

also powdercoat the bleeder valves

Is that square cut o-ring for the 2 halves the same for the front (Girling) and rear (ATE)? I'll be rebuilding mine at all 4 corners.

probably the same but I have not touched the rears

I got like $15 in rebuilding these. New kit from rockauto and caliper halves from vp

Torque bolts from the outside in. Smaller bolt 40ft lbs. Larger bolt 70ft lbs.
