244Ti Stage Rally Project

Don't really have any pictures of the "middle" setup, but somewhere along the line between watching Methods MR502's spontaneously combust on other competitors over the last few years, as well as the fact the larger centerbore, +15 off, 5x114 versions I use were discontinued I decided to move away from them.

The "middle setup" - I found Jeep Cherokee lace/snowflake/multi x's to be a decent alternative. Can be had super cheap on FB market, CL, eBay etc. They are super beefy and the downright look right on the 240. Only problems - with my new Wilwoods up front you could barely fit a few sheets of paper between the inner rim and the caliper. Also, to obtain the right offset I was going to need to run almost 4'' long studs and 20-25mm of spacer [offset on those wheels is 35-40 ish mm] for the wheel faces to clear the caliper also to have just enough threads on each lugnut catch to feel even remotely comfortable.

I was going to just run them until I found out about these wheels called the 502 Arvo [ironically the Methods were called 502's...] from a company called Nomad, which from my further research is under the same umbrella of wheel companies as Raceline [another off road company] and Kansei. After talking with a rep they should be up to the task for stage rallying. Price is currently insanely reasonable with their Black Friday deal, so I ordered 1 for now just to test. +15 is the offset they are offered in, and the 72.6 mm hub bore is easily remedied with alloy rings to come down to the 65.1 Volvo bore.

It arrived quick so last night I unboxed it and mounted it up, and between the construction and the fitment I am very satisfied. They feel pretty solid and are thick in the right places.

They look like a bit of a modernized 242GT wheel with a touch of Ronal Turbo or OZ's.

Caliper clearance is MUCH better [yes I know my hardware is not tightened down]

Has decent sized grooves to keep the tire bead on, and the outside lip is beefy enough. I don't have my Methods anymore, but they are comparable.

Wow love these - look killer. So I understand, you have converted to 5x114? Assuming they dont come in 5x108 because they would be a great choice.

Yes, my axles (custom) and hubs (bne dynamics) are 114. You can find rally wheels in 108, it’s just much easier, and cheaper with 114.
