so, I've read a couple posts on other sites about the 850 302mm upgrade

http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=38299

and the poi pointing out that 960=850 brakes

http://forums.turbobricks.com/showthread.php?t=85788

This thread actually shows the bracket style the 960 has that someone got by mistake, even though the mount on the spindle is the same, the brackets and calipers are different, and apparently both the part numbers talked about in the thread are for the 850, its just new vs reman and the coating, but a lot of people get the wrong brackets in the box, even though that photo shows a 8251319 box, those are single piston caliper brackets not the 8251319.

I know I can change over to the 2 piston 850 calipers when I do the swap and just use the apparently easier to find 850 302mm caliper brackets, but does anyone know of bracket that will just move out the stock 960 caliper the way the 850 bracket does so that all I have to do is swap the bracket and rotor and keep the caliper the same?

AFIK the S/V70R bracket and calipers is the only way to go for the 302 mm brakes, 97-up. I don't think the 850 ever came with them, maybe an option, but is a retrofit to 850/95-up 960. The bracket is available from Volvo at a reasonable price. There was once a kit available, too.

I used some S60r rotors (thanks gary) they are 330mm. I used the wilwood calipers on my car, but adapters are not hard to make. Worked out for me some 3/4 6061 and some minor shimming landed the rotor/caliper centered up.

12 year bump.
Got any pics of the adapters you made, part numbers for the calipers?

EDIT: Just saw he was last online in 2017. NVM.
