3D Printed Parts Thread

Has anyone 3D printed a brake light lens for the later model 240's? Or does anyone have a source for this lens, left and right? Mine are faded and warped from the heat. Thanks.

EUROBIKENUT

Has anyone 3d printed the shifter bushings for a 740 automatic? I don't wanna pay like $50 from IPD to Canada.
They're available from dealers, fcp euro, autohauz az etc made by pro parts sweden, volvo p/n 666143. They need to be flexed and bent to be fitted so I wouldn't recommend printing them.

I didn't have anything of the right diameter sitting around to kludge together a crank seal press, so I modeled something up quickly and printed it.

Files are up on thingiverse if you want to print one yourself.

I could swear I saw a seatback adjuster knob file somewhere but now I can’t find it.

Anybody remember that? Its the knob that adjust the angle of the seat back in 4 door 86+ cars.

So my mate thinks he's funny.....3d printed me this, with the bonnet up, as he claims it's always in the state 🙄

Here is a possibly sort of useful thing I just made: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6918113

maybe the falling-apart washerbottle cap problem is unique to me, or I just didn't check hard enough for someone else who had already made something like this.

Tested it on my car with PLA at 102%, fits OK but for future attempts I would use 103% or larger if using rigid material, I also included the CAD file if someone wants to improve it.

now this doesn't fix the pine needles and dirt that have already found their way into the washerbottle and seemingly clogged the rear pump:/

The cap for the washer reservoir is still available.

Someone should make the filter for the reservoir. It's been discontinued.

I know it can be bought, I made this model for people like myself who are too cheap to buy the real part but somehow have access to a 3d printer.

As for the filter, if you mean the hundreds of little bits of disintegrated plastic floating atop my washer fluid, then yes, I could see that being a useful thing to have a print for.
I don't think a printer would be very well-suited to print such a thing in one piece. I think the best 3d-printed solution would be a filter frame in which a screen or other mesh is added.

I did just now come up with a somewhat janky but workable way for a 3d printer to make a mesh of sorts using the support settings. This would need to be printed flat then could be "welded" onto a 3d printed frame. Also, one could just use something like a bit of an old screen door on the same armature if they happen to have such a thing lying around.

I will see about making some sort of filter replacement in the near future, no guarantees it will be good or anything:)

OK, here it is: a washer bottle filter! My design is a lot smaller and different than the original one, but it should serve the same purpose and it fits fine, is still easy to remove for cleaning, and allows plenty of flow for refilling bottle.

The best way I found to make a screen for the filter was to utilise Cura's internal support designs, so this is a two-piece thing that one must melt together (very easy with a soldering iron)

I know the assembly process of this is subideal, but the end product is quite sturdy and functional. If anybody could figure out a way to print this in once piece or make the screen without my sketchy support-based workaround.
Hope this is useful for people:)

Looks great! I'll add it to the mega. Nice work.

thanks, if you happen to make it any point, please let me know how easy it was to make and assemble the "screen" using my provided directions. I was able to make my own since I designed it and sorta had the vision in my head, but idk how my poorly-worded directions will translate to other people making. I may one day try to make a more comprehensive assembly and printing guide with visuals and stuff.

@moderator: can we have a central list/thread of all the 3D printed inventions, their links and the owner?
This is growing bigger and bigger and finding the thingi you remembered is becoming a little difficult.

Ok, formally asking now. Anyone have a seat back adjuster knob file?

This would be great. I think a lot of people miss my link too, I have to add a few parts people put here, but I want everyone to have access to these.

I'm no 3D design expert (just got a Bambu P1S at the shop a couple weeks ago and started learning CAD) but man it sure would be cool if someone made a reasonable facsimile of the low mount fog light kit for facelift 700 and 900 series cars. Maybe to mount a standard rectangle Bosch or Hella lamp, or a modern LED equivalent.
