3D Printed Parts Thread

On my 92 740 there are little clips that attach them to the brake lines, they do brake and fall off / if lines have ever been changed they tend to go missing.1000042954.jpg1000042954.jpgScreenshot_20250806_132454_Gallery.jpg

Can anyone here 3d print me these clips I need to secure the rear louver to my 242 the correct* way? I ordered these ones off of tradera 2 months ago and they never showed up. I assume there is a file out there somewhere for these or something similiar. I have an autoplas brand louvre.

I'm not familiar with the original parts, but let me know if you see any models in this Yeggi search that fit your need & we can set up an order

I sent you a pm. Here's some pics of the file I found on thingiverse. The pieces I crossed out I don't need.

There should be some sort of locking screw that goes into the first part above like is shown here in the pic below, but it doesnt seem to be included in this file? My louver is not a thermoform brand so im not sure if these ones would fit. The blue parts above do look correct to me though minus the missing lock screw thing.

Let me know if this works. I'd love to get the clips and get this thing on my car asap. Thanks

@rearwheelpeel I know we're talking in DM but the attach files button is not present there oddly. Here's a photo of what it looks like on a build plate; print orientation dictates where the part will be its strongest (within the same layer) and weakest (between vertically-printed layers). Seeing I'm not familiar with the parts it'd be good to know if these parts are under a lot of force and in what direction.

The clips are holding the louver against the glass. One edge should wedge under/into the trim around the rear glass and the other edge that is raised will be securing the louver. The strongest part should probably be in the center of each clip, or where it raises to go over the edge of the louver. The two peices with the locking screw thing go underneath the louver and wedged into the sides of the glass trim, and the locking screw goes into holes on the edge of the louver and locks into those clips.

It would be great to be able to send pics in dms...
Here's a couple of the louver and where I'll be putting the clips.

I'm here to request the door lock holder clip, part 1334720. They're cheap and still available, but if I could just print one it'd be easier.

Also requesting the door panel clips, I'll likely be able to replicate pretty quick.

in general where are guys going to have files printed?
We (VPrints) are always churning out solid quality print jobs; feel free to message us here, or on FB or Etsy with your inquiry. Hopefully someone else can chime in in support of us :)

In fairness to the other common options: PCB Way has decent prices if you’re trying to get multiple items printed. They also have machines that can print top quality if money is less of a concern for you.

I just installed the rear louver on my 242 with clips provided by @VPrints - I'm a total noob when it comes to 3d printing and he was very helpful. I went with the carbon fiber asa filament and im very happy with the quality of the parts. He even printed an extra of each part in case I needed them. Fast shipping + excellent service. I dont know what else I need yet but ill be back...

I have each side secured like this + the center parts with the metal rod in the middle. Its very secure - aint goin nowhere

I need a double din stereo adapter. Anyone want to print me one?

I found the door lock cable grommet broken on my rear door while fixing the door handle. This made the door lock work intermittently.

After many tries I came up with this thing to hold it together while I try some acetone to melt the original bits together and leave in place indefinitely for additional support. I’m printing the final iteration in ABS

Properly replicating the pen/coin tray (unlike the garbage currently for sale everywhere); does anyone know the length of the screws used to secure the OE part to the dash?
