91 940 SE turbo pcv vacuum line

I just acquired a 91 940 SE, and I'm working on replacing the PCV system including the flame trap box with a Volvo unit. However, my current setup has the box with the breather line going straight to the intake. No plastic fitting with a vacuum t at all. Is this correct? I've got no plugged ports on my intake manifold. All of them are spoken for. But everything I've read and what IPD and FC Euro are telling me is that I'm supposed to have a plastic pass through with a vacuum port that goes to the intake manifold.

I’ve had Turbo Redblocks with a hose from the PCV box, direct to pre-turbo intake, and it’s worked successfully into 14psi and abuse range.

The stock setup however would have had a short “s” like hose from the box to a white “t” and the big hose continues to pre-turbo intake, with the small “t” vacuum nipple to intake vacuum.

The turbo “t” fitting is empty inside, whereas the NA cars had a “flame trap” filter looking thing. So, in all, you add a vacuum line to your setup to be “stock”

What’s that added hose do though?

Assuming this is a Turbo it should not have a "flame trap". It's supposed to have the black breather box, short rubber hose, white plastic fitting for a vacuum line (that connects to the small restricted fitting on the intake) and the hose going across the motor to the rubber boot in front of the Turbo.

I do not have that white plastic piece. I have a single hose that goes from the box straight to pre-turbo. No vacuum line attachment. And there are no capped intake manifold vacuum ports of available for me to attach that small vacuum hose. I want to add it to add some vacuum while at idle. I'm having smoking issues

The question then is what do your vacuum lines go to? The breather nipple usually goes to the upper middle forward nipple in the intake. The lower forward nipple goes to the WasteGate actuator. Mine I converted to quick connect (and added check valve), but location is the same

Damn clean setup. I followed all of them and they all look old and look like they're going somewhere important. I'm going to figure this out tomorrow with a picture and maybe you guys can help. I know one goes into the firewall by my heater core on passenger side. Another goes to EGR valve and another goes thru the firewall on my driver side. Another goes to the compressor wheel on turbo

The vacuum line connection to the intake manifold does not make any functional difference, it will not affect how your engine is running at all. The only reason it was made like that from the factory is because of the ARB/EPA requirement to have the PCV configured the way that it's connected to the engine vacuum. So they made it as small as possible to show that it's there and it pulls something like 1% of the crankcase vapor into the intake vacuum at idle. The crankcase is actually vented through the large hose to the unpressurized side of the intake system before the turbo.

Ok guys thanks for clearing this up. So it seems like it's not necessary and I don't have to worry it's not present. I'll be deleting the elbow and just replacing the box by itself
