'93 940 lh2.4 b230ft swap into '90 lh2.2 245

I already need to troubleshoot the rear window washer nozzle not moving fluid too.
In the 245s, there's a little right-angle one-way valve on the rear washer line. It's out of sight above the rear well, just before the line goes up to the squirter nozzle.
[volvopartswebstore.com sells them as qty 1 instead of tasca's 5 pack]

On my 245, the 1-way valve was stuck closed. Unfortunately, I didn't know about the valve and applied shop air to the nozzle to clear out the clogged line. The resulting popping noise was the line splitting. I still need to figure out if I can remove the nozzle undamaged to to replace that line.

I believe I have that exact valve brand new on my 940 parts car. Thank you for that tip.

While waiting on mounting parts for the 940 IC I wired in a MAF relocation plug and swapped the computers. I was finally able to provide the transmission shop with the parts they need to get it back together. I'll probably move on to the pedal assembly next and start planning my battery relocation.

Does anyone have any recommendations on where to route the battery cables and the wires for the washer fluid pumps?
I had the battery cable running inside the heater hose for extra safety from the engine compartment along the floor on the inside all the way to the back. Battery was installed inside the plastic battery box in the passenger side butt cheek that was vented to the existing little vent grill on the same side. Everything fit under the stock floor cover. I think I ran 24 Series battery. If you use dry cell that can be mounted in any position you don't have to vent it.

Hey guys I was installing the rest of the piping to test fitment and I realized there is some sort of valve in the intake pipe with a plug on it. It comes from the breather box and goes into the intake. Since the 240 lh2.4 harness didn't have this plug, should I just delete it?

It's a little heater, supposedly to prevent PCV icicles from forming, then breaking off and damaging the turbine. The factory 240 turbos didn't have it, but it shows up on the 940s. If you often drive your volvo short distances in winter, you could wire it up to switched +12v. Otherwise, just leave the connector empty.

Okay I wondered if that was a heating element. My diesel bmw has one and I was going to delete it to fabricate a secondary air/oil separator. Thank you for the information.

Hey guys I wanted to give a quick update. I finished my electric fan conversion by chopping the 940 shroud down to size and hot stapled the back side. Then I used a thin coat of JB weld and sanded it smooth.then I rattle canned it with some glossy black and you can't even tell I chopped on it. Most people think it's just a brand new part. Also I scooped up a Audi A4 air filter and it fits quite nicely surprisingly enough.

Hopefully those photos can be viewed by those without Snapchat installed. I couldn't get my other photo apps to produce a link.

Oh and btw I just picked up the m47 from the transmission shop a few days ago. Hopefully it's nice and quiet now. All I have left to do is make a power steering hose and the trans will be going in.

Yes everything except for the AC for now. I'll progress to electric power steering pump eventually. I assume those are the accessories you're referring to.

Yeah, I was just curious why the effort to extend the power steering lines and redo the alternator wires if you already had the 240 stuff.

The alternator wires were plenty long enough. I only have to make one power steering hose. It's really not a big deal. I just left everything where it was instead of swapping the accessories. There's lots of ways to accomplish what is essentially the same result. I've got 3 of everything so I just picked an option and went with it. If what I did was wrong let me know.

Did you have any other input or did you just want to criticize me for not doing it your way? Out of everything i mentioned in my update you chose to focus on the location of my alternator and power steering pump? Not really the feedback I was looking for but thanks for taking to time to reply.

Just curious on how your swap is going, I'm finishing up my second LH 2.4 swap in another 760. Just got to drill a hole through the firewall and finish connecting wires under there

Geez I just wanted to know why you were changing the accessory location. It's nice to see you work through this swap I just didn't know if you had thought out dropping the B230FT in with 7/9 accessories. It seems you have so carry on.

Its going well so far ive just finished up wiring gauges and they look pretty nice. I had to modify the pod bezels to fit aftermarket gauges. Much like my fan shroud job, you can't even tell I chopped on it which makes me really. I'm still waiting for a few items to come in so I can finish my ps plumbing. Still need to throw the trans in as well but the big ticket items are finished.
Are you referring to your clutch cable hole?
