940T motor mounts

Oh dear 😕. I'm having difficulty here in the UK sourcing mid budget mounts, seems to start at £42 for cheap crappy ones
I'm having trouble sourcing actual high quality mounts, seems like it's all pro parts sweden and nothing oem. Im kicking myself for throwing out the old ones

I have an engine support fixture.

You could buy, rent, build one instead of risking life or limb with ramps and jacks.

The proprarts mounts are not terrible. It would be nice to get a really nice good quaility mount, I might be able to get something made as many customers do want low NVH
This is really my big complaint - those mounts are just too stiff and not actually doing a very good job of absorbing vibration even with a smooth idle at 750rpm. With my old mounts only the engine vibrated, with the pro parts ones my engine is held still and the rest of the car gets the shakes. That's also why I'm interested in other manufacturers like the anchor brand ones, just to see if anyone made something that isn't performance oriented.

I've been offered some visually excellent condition original Volvo used mounts, worth trying?? Mine have pretty much collapsed 😁
If you don't mind doing the job twice if they fail early or are no good, I would say give it a shot. Original parts in good condition are more reliable than brand new aftermarket stuff

I think I’ve figured out the difference in the Anchor mounts I received. One appears to be a hydraulic mount while the other is solid. I’m thinking the hydraulic mount will go on the turbo side. I would think that mount deals with more load since the torque wants to twist the engine that direction.

Im soon approaching this road as well and has settled on the Andersson Steel Mounts; gives options for replaceable bushings, strong and sturdy....Btdt with all the rest, did like the Hutchinson mounts as an alternative but No-Go with the searches anymore...As stated, you get what ya pay for...

Short answer, no. I have seen more than one oil pan that was bent from folks using it as a jacking point. I very carefully use the Alt/PS casting as a jacking point. One side at a time. Slip a block of wood between the pan and the cross member to keep the engine from crashing down on your fingers. There is enough room if you tilt the engine vs. trying to jack it straight up.
I agree. Just did a pair on the 93 945T I've been working on - one side at a time, unbolt lower bracket from crossmember, remove top nut retaining mount in upper bracket, raise motor enough to wiggle out mount & bracket, swap over new mount, reinstall. PS is a little fiddly with the turbo heat shield, and that spring loaded tab on the mount, but that's about it. Easy job.

I went with the $110 pr listing on eBay

I actually got a similar thing with mine. One appears slightly more flexible than the other. Under ideal circumstances though, they should be identical

270 bucks makes it hard to go that way on a DD for comfort. They are talking about the hydro mount that absorbs almost all the vibration, and then going to a mount that transfers a lot of the vibration is hard to justify. I am sure even the softest compound they have gets no where near as soft as hydro mounts. Great looking product though, maybe one day for the 240

Ok, I'm really needing to get this done but not happy about the quality of parts that I am seeing, all look like Chinese tat to me and over priced.

How noticeably different would solid mounts be? Would solids from another model fit??? Would poly mounts be really harsh???

Just did mine, not that hard. IPD $50 each, didn't realize how bad the ones in the car were. After installation I now feel every little vibration from the engine... and the engine sits a good 3/4" higher at least. Loosen the top nut on both sides, remove the bottom nuts, then jack up the engine one side at a time, remove old, drop in new, lower and do the other side. Took about 30 minutes tops.

My experience exactly - quite disappointed frankly, and I'm left wondering if I have idle issues or it's just the new mounts are stiffer than oem.

Oh crap, not what I wanted to hear!! How do they drive though? Do you feel the engine vibration in motion or just at idle??
For me it's only at idle (I think - still dealing with some general NVH that could be wheel balance/rotors/driveshaft angle), and then it smooths out way better at about 850-1000 rpm. It's just an annoying thing since I'm trying to make my car a comfortable daily/road tripper, not a sports car

Exactly what I'm trying to do, I'm slowly changing things back to standard, the previous owner did a few decent mods but also a few shockers. I want to get rid of the 3" turbo back exhaust and sports cat but the idiot changed the backplate on the turbo to fit the downpipe. Sports air filter is going, bigger turbo is staying 😎. He has put brand new V70 calipers and discs on the front with braided hoses which is a great touch though!!!

Compared to the OE mounts in good shape you will feel the engine vibration 100% of the time. It is just most noticeable at idle because there are no road vibrations/noises to drown out the engine vibrations.
