got somemore parts in the mail. My pistons are still out being coated and my block is just about done being machined. Looks like the weather will not cooperate this weekend for the new efi install so Ill work on porting the head while I wait on valvesprings.

Getting the parts is the easy part...its all the labor now! Couple late nighters and we should be all good.

My boost guage and dales underdrive pulley showed up today, Thanks dhallilama for the quick shipping on the pulley.

Well, my calipers, fpr for the new intake, and the 16v head sealer showed up today. my internals are all done being coated and will be here tuesday. Thinkin about intalling the new V3 tomorrow but weather looks crappy so Ill most likely port the head, and tweak on the intake.

Please tell me that's cut, and you are mounting this upright?

HEHE....not yet? that tape is holding the oring on there......I have thought about it tho. Its really just motor mounts....and reclock the tranny or make a angled shifter. Sure would make building the manifold easier.

Wow you just get sh*t done, don't you.

LOL....yea I dont screw around. I do pull alot of late nights. Have a 7 month old at home....moms at work tonight so were just chillin.

I almost forgot about the box maxman sent me today. The NPR

I believe that either T5 adapter plates from Dale (245gti) or Kaplhenke allow you to mount it upright or stock slanted. Not sure what you were planning to do for a transmission though.

Im went with a Fbody T5 and one of JohnV adapted bellhousings. Not really clockable unless I weld on new mouting ears and retap them. Ill have to check that out later....My clutch slave is all figured out.

Vertical 16v was my plan from the start. Just didn't let it cascade that much more in my build. Vertical mounted (to me) is really the icing on the cake of a 16v. Packaging on the exhaust side becomes a lot nicer too. Way more room. For mine, I just didn't want to add another layer to the onion.

Here's the inspiration for my build -- perfect example of the awesomeness of vertically mounted 16v (especially in a 240):

Well, hung out with my son today and had a birthday party to attend, so i got to the garage late. I got to work over the head...all the valves are out....the vs1632 springs are ordered from Josh....got the intake and exhaust all ported out....gasket matched and cleaned up the rough casting. Looks way better than when i started. No real port reshape, just a really good clean up. Valves will get ground next weekend, then off to the machine shop to get skimmed.

Got the bellhousing trimmed out for the cranksensor just incase I need to swap back to LH, and worked on my idler pully bracket countersinking the allen drive bolts.

And new to you guys...but a while back I bent a rim hitting a pothole in the apex of a corner where the darn paving guys had it cut back for sometime and the gravel they filled it with got pushed out....so one morning driving to work totally flattened the inside lip of the rim......

So I picked some new ones out. Went with 17x7.5 up front and 18x8 out back. Not much of choices anymore for wheels that will fit our cars. Most manuf are limiting the offsets and sizes.
Heres a fit up shot.

Time for a small update....

after much debate over the weekend I realized I really didnt like the wheel I chose so I got something else coming a little bit more chunkier and will fit the lines of the car. Goin with 18's all around and running a Dale adapter

I have been wokring on my down pipe adapter....have it all tacked up and will finish the reducer to flange weld tomorrow and fit the external wastegate next to the Vband clamp. Im running the WG off the opened internal wg port for now.

And this one is for Cameron......I know your reading!
Heres the start to the upright motor mounts....used some 1/2 plate and traced the base of the stock mounts. I have some poly leafspring bushing i use in some pipe for mounts....so Ill post more of this while the engine is going in.
