Thanks for the pics!
What do you use for lower spring perch? Did you straigthen the lower mounting point somehow?

The coilovers bolt in place of the stock shocks. The "spring perch" or sorts for the leaf spring is unchanged. Everything is factory stock except the softer leaf spring and the the addition of the coilovers in place of the shocks.

What springs are that? The fat one is normal 960 and the thin one is from nivomat?

The kaplhenke coilovers looks nice!!

The big spring is the factory non-nivomat spring that came out of my car. The smaller spring is actually a Volvo "road holding" spring from the factory available road holding package. They don't make it anymore and they're very hard to find. I probably have the only one in North America. I used the road holding spring because I got lucky enough to find one, BUT, a nivomat spring works just as well and that is what The Poi used.

I'm very happy with my setup front and back. The Kaplhenke stuff is top notch.

I like the handling of my car with the big rear bar and coilovers. It's plenty neutral the way I have it set up. I'm usually top 3 in class at autocross.

You take it to autoX, that is awesome... guess You got some funny looks in the beginning :D

Actually I was surprised how much BETTER the 960 is compared to the 850.
My 850 had yellow konis, springs, and the whole suspension was in a great shape... and the 960 has cut springs in the front, stock rideheight in the back and I'm not sure about the general shape of the rest of the suspension... and still feels a lot more nimble and playful. :wiggle:

UPDATE!!!
Finally got over my boost problems.. I couldn't boost past ~12psi. Thought I had a leak. Well... the wastegate rod was to long and the WG was partially open all the time...
Cut & weld the rod and voila, got my boost back.
Feels good :)

I bet your torque band is light years better now too!
Hell YESSS!!!

Now I have to figure out why the wg rod keeps unscrewing itself... actually, I know why... the new WG bracket lets the wg resonate enough to undo the screw... great.
This car keeps me entertained in any ways imaginable...

Updatessss!

We had to leave the old workshop, I was pretty sad at first, but got a better a place and we are on our own there, so all good now. Only downside is we don't have a lift anymore :( and have to buy a lot of equipment... oh well...

Worked on the car a little as well.
Re-routed the datacable from VEMS thur the firewall... it is a big improvement
And wired in the rpm to signal to the tach, yay for having a working tach again.
Got a set of OEM plugs, bye bye misfires
Tidied up a wiring harness a bit, but I don't have a loom to make it pretty, so still WIP.
Bought a set of COPs from a 2006 s80 2.5t. Have to redo the COP harness to make them work.

Started to assemble the MK1 IRS. First time ever I have to put together a rear diff, and to get the diff sit correctly in the housing is more difficult than I thought. I'm still not convinced it is sitting right...
Decided to mod the trailing arms a little and use universal GAZ shocks with spherical bushing top and bottom. So the lower mounting points are about the get a treatment..

Switched to e85. Smells so gooood. But I still have the itty-bitty 315cc injectors... they are not happy. And the stock 960 fuel pump got a bit tired, above 4500rpm on any boost level AFR went waaaay too lean. A friend came up with a smoking deal for a AEM pump, so I jumped on it.

F*ck You volvo for putting the fuel pump there...

this was the 2nd time I had to fiddle with the pump and still hate it. I miss the 850's folding seats..

anyway, here is the AEM pump installed in the stock carrier:

Had to mod the stopping tabs a little, other than that it was a straight swap.

And a little comparison:

Thats all for now..

oh, I got an awesome birthday cake from my friends:
