Hi,

I have a mk2 '95 Volvo 965.
With new design front strut (like the 850). But it is pain in a** to find some fine shocks for the front.
Seems like i have 2 solutions :

Use 850 front struts and adapt strut bushings or tower to receive the shocks.

Or can i use 960 mk1 front shocks assembly with directly front bearings? i allready have a mk1 cars for parts.
But does tie rods fits? (740/940 models on mk1 struts VS 850 models on my mk2)

Hi I had Koni 850 shocks on the front of my 960 with coilover sleeves and 7/9 camber plates from BNE. I recommend going with bilstein shocks as they seem to last longer.

also mk1 complete strut assembly will fit a mk2 960 as they use the same ball joint and it will bolt up to the tie rods as well. You will need a camber plate in order to use them.

With MK1 struts the hub mounting surface will be in closer to the tube. It might require spacers to run the FWD offset wheels without the tires rubbing on the struts.

There are plenty of people that don’t realize the 95 through 98 960/S/V90 is totally different from a 92-94 960.
Next thing you will say is the 940 front suspension is not the same as the 240 but with "ish" on the end, which is the same as a 50s Farmall tractor

No, I'm not Trick Mick. Folks need to know what they are getting into before they start down a path that might snow ball. Possibly having to buy custom spacers and studs would be something someone would want to know before they buy a set of struts and Konis because it sounded like a good idea. Yeah right, it's common knowledge on here the hub offset is totally different.
