After market oil cooler

Hi I am looking for a after market oil cooler set up and looking for feedback on what works good for a red block.

My car had the water cooled adapter but I am looking for a more efficient one like the external Volvo ones on my 940T but rater have a new setup rather then a recycled one. This car will be beat on a bit.

Any input is appreciated
 
I have a moroso sandwich plate on the block running 2 10an lines to an earls filter relocator , I put a mishimoto thermostatic plate on that that runs to a mishimoto oil cooler. All 10an lines. This also gave me more ports to run a turbo feed. I adapted one of the lines down to a six and have everything on one spot.
 
Have a setrab thermostatic sandwich plate, 10an lines to an “rx7” oilcooler mounted underneath the slam panel. Has worked great for years.
 
I used a B&M cooler from Summit, factory lines with adapter fittings on the cooler side. Worked really well on a car I drove hard.
 
And probably worth buying from a reputable shop; I was on the phone with a Setrab tech guy last week he told me there's a lot of knock-off Setrab products floating around.
The knock-off amazon/ebay coolers are about 1/2 the price. The main issue is the fittings are not the best, and some are brazed to the cooler. So don't mess them up!
 
Also the deburring is garbage on most eBay/Amazon/chinesium, but if you take some time, clean and check out all the threaded stuff, debur intersecting holes, stone every mating surface, and sometimes (in most that I’ve used) correct the AN orb sealing surfaces, they will work and not leak.
 
On a street car is it best to have a thermostat somewhere in the oil cooler system? Or would you just run a smaller oil cooler?

The temps here are usually between 10-25 degrees C (50 - 75 F).
 
The first thing to consider when deciding on a oil cooler, is if you actually need a oil cooler. Do you measure oil temperatures? And do you regularly exceed the working temperature of the oil you use? Could you use a better oil?

Secondly, the standard water/oil heat exchanger on the B230FT is generally really good. It transfers heat from the oil to the water, which is then cooled by the radiator. If you need more cooling, just fit a bigger radiator. Very simple, without all the extra plumbing required for a separate oil cooler. It also has the benefit of speeding up the heating of the oil from a cold start, by transferring heat the other way, water to oil.

A oil thermostat is essential, to prevent over cooling the oil and damaging the engine. If the car is driven on the street, it will almost certainly be overcooled at some point.
 
I thought that the latest oil-to-coolant version found on 940 Turbos was the one that performed the best in terms of efficiency.
 
I'm running the 940 water oil cooler on my B23, I had to weld the tab that bolts to the water pump on the opposite side and make my own hanger, unfortunately the only data point I have is that I haven't blown up my engine from cooked oil. I do drive it extremely hard at autocross.
