I know there are tons of these on this forum, but this one has some weird circumstances. 1987 volvo 245 m47 to t5, lh2.2 fuel, Chrysler ignition box. Recently installed new Dave Barton ignition and fuel harnesses to help increase the reliability of the known failure point, the garbage rotting wire. Now the car starts and immediately dies.
behold: the troubleshooting so far: The pumps are good, made sure to test them 6 ways to Sunday (direct hotwire, relay bypass, ect.). Ive also tried grounding out pins 21 and 17 on the ECU to make sure its on and working, along with testing a second known good fuel ECU.
The next test I did was a noid light on the injectors, which shows that they fire exactly once before shutting off. They do this when starting from the key start position and the Ignition 2 position, with 12volts jumpered to the starter solenoid. Went around, checked every connection. Tested it with each sensor unplugged, one at a time. This includes unplugging the MAF and then testing it with a SECOND MAF. So far, the ONLY thing that has changed it farting off was unplugging the IAC, but that's to be expected. the noid light still fired though. It keeps spark the whole time, even after it dies. Confirmed the Chrysler box is sending +/-5vAC signal to the ECU when cranking.
Does anyone have ANY ideas on what could cause such malarkey?
