Any reviews of the BNE Medium Brake Brembo kit?

Sometimes I have to drive the bejeezus out of my wagon to keep up in DC area traffic. I LOVE my car and spare her nothing, but she's heavy and the braking is not what I would call spectacular. I also hate money. I was thinking about getting the BNE Medium Brake kit, but I have not seen too many reviews after diligently searching. Anyone wanna pipe up and give me a reason to get them? I emailed BNE the other day just to confirm that they'd fit under the Virgos and am waiting to hear back. I am assuming they are bolt-on, too - condo rules don't let me do work on the car (I do anyway, I just try to keep it small) and I don't have a garage, so the boys at the local garage near me do some of the bigger jobs for me. Great guys and good mechanics, but they're not Volvo guys per se.

Stock vented disc brakes on a 240 are pretty dang good. They should be way more than you need for a street car.

The BMW guys used to steal our calipers as an upgrade to the 2002 system.

Make sure all your stuff works properly. Get Stock Volvo branded pads. New vented rotors, and high temp fluid and make sure its all clean and lubed. People track these cars with the stock setup and do alright.

Agreed. When working as per new, they can demonstrate why seat belts are a necessity.

For a track car, the main reason to upgrade brakes is not so that you'll be able to stop better... it's to make sure you can do it dozens of times in a row without heat fade.

Maybe I'll just put a new booster/master into it and replace the front rotors and pads.

My Hawk HPS pads are nice. I still wish the brakes were better though. I've found that when I need to stop fast in my 240 I lock up one of the fronts. Knowing this, the tires are a bigger issue than the brakes on my car. Bigger brakes won't stop you faster if your tires won't allow it.

For a street car for many years. I've used drilled and slotted rotors. They will give a big improvement in braking. I used an ebay seller like brake tech or something and they have been fine. I've also used drilled brembo rotors but I can't find them anymore. They were really well made.

I have used EBC brakes green stuff and they were great. Not long lasting but great performance. We have also used Porterfield racing pads and they were an excellent product. I bought a street version they sold.

When Centric bought out stoptech it was downhill for their quality control. The last several batches of rotors we have received on a couple different cars are just horrific. Rotor castings seriously out of spec brand new. Horrible paint control and runs.

I have been avoiding “stoptech” until they get their quality control back.

My go to street set up was the stoptech slotted rotor and ferodo DS2500 pads. Pads still are great but we will probably just be getting two piece girodisc… granted those cars all have bigger brake or r calipers on them.

I haven't seen the quality concerns but I don't put my hands on too many of their products. They did skyrocket the price of their slotted rotors, I figured it was supply chain constraint based but they were bought out by venture capitalists which could also explain it.

Centric didn't acquire stoptech , they were both acquired by first brands.
