Arrow on Replacement Dash Cluster

Hey, hoping someone can help. I just replaced my dash cluster. The old one had a weird temp gauge that I could not get to read consistently, a broken odometer, and the connector on the back of the speedo was super glued on. But the arrow relating to the overdrive (its an auto) always worked when I pressed the button on the shifter.

I recently replaced the cluster after cutting out the old speedo connector and replacing that. Now the temp gauge works, the odometer is broken on this one, the service light is on and cannot be reset with the button (Removed the bulb). The arrow is also always on. The car is shifting fine and going into overdrive as usual.

I know the arrow relates to shifting in manual cars - are the dashes the same between manual and autos? Wondering if I got a manual cluster. Why else would it remain on with the "new" cluster when it worked as it should with the old one?

If I can't figure it out I'll pull the bulb, but I love having at least some of those lights working...

The arrow in the cluster is the same manual/auto, and looks like it's unchanged for 1985-1993. The connection on the back of the cluster is a single tab on the right side:

When you press the button on the auto shifter, do you hear the relay click and does it shift into/out-of overdrive?

Thanks for this diagram, that is helpful. I'll do some thinking on it. No, nothing happens when I press the button to the light. I haven't really tested whether it would stay out of overdrive if I pressed the button; I guess I'll try that and see. It's been going into it as normal during highway driving. For now I unplugged the wire, but I do very occasionally tow a utility trailer (and I turn of OD for that) so it would be nice to have. It's a 93 240 wagon with auto. Sorry bout forgetting that bit.
