I don't see anything too bad on those pics. Although some aux shaft bearings are supposed to be line bored after installation, and some aren't?

I feel like aux shaft bearings were a hot topic a few years back. I'd just defer to the recommendations of your machine shop.

They were suddenly in short supply for a period of time. I think they're back in supply now.

The B18/20 engines are closely related to the B21/23/230's, with a camshaft occupying the same location. The B20 has three different sized bearings though. I think adding to the confusion during the OHC bearing shortage was some catalogs listing the B20's cam bearings as fitting the OHC as well.

JohnMc is right and there is a perpetuating catalog error that shows the IS/AS bearings being the same B18/B20 engines but only in aftermarket catalogs.

FYI, there are 2 different style of bearings, original and pre-fit. Volvo's IS/AS bearings, part number 463360 for the front and 463361 for the middle and rear, have to machined to fit after being installed. Volvo never sold the bearings as a set while the pre-fit bearings always come as a set of 3 and don't need any additional machining after installation. You have to be careful to make sure that the middle and rear bearings are installed in the correct position as the outer diameters are the same, but the inner diameters only vary by .004".

I stock new pre-fit IS/AS bearing sets if you need 1 and I always write on the outside each with a Sharpie ink pen where they are supposed to be installed.
