Ok so the ol vo smokes on idle, under heavy initial load(boost) and random puffs whilst driving, the turbo is new so that seems unlikely, I have no real pcv to speak of so I'm wondering if that could cause the smoke? I'm gonna change to a little thicker oil because I think the one i currently have is too thin.. really wanna nail this down, the car runs great and pulls like mad but the smoke is straight up embarrassing

It's a feature not a problem. Since you don't have a pcv. That is a good place to start. Having a vacuum pcv helps not only to remove the crankcase vapors and pressure. But the vacuum also helps the rings seal since it's removing the crankcase pressure on that side of the piston.

Is it from eBay?

One turbo was one wasn't. Smoked both, yeah the pcv seems to make most sense then

Are the plugs oil burn-y? Does it smoke during or after decel? Do you have a turbo oil restrictor? Is it clocked vaguely straight? Is there oil in your boost piping?

Also pcv gases smell gross, burn em.

No oil in pipes that I saw, didn't check the plugs, that's a good thought, yes there is a restriction on the feed, the drain faces down pretty decently

Thanks a lot dude I never took the time to learn that stuff at the start so in a sense I am a bit of dolt🥴
Actually, said like Church Lady. The small vacuum line is used on 740/940 from flame trapless plastic holder to the intake. The nipple on the intake has a different inside diameter than the n/a one.

It's the 240 turbo setup which only has the large hose to the turbo intake pipe. The 740 setup should work a little better.

Well pcv is on and thicker oil and still smokes like mad when it warms up, I'm about to get rid of this car and focus on my old cj7 I'm very close to being over this damn thing. The second I turn the car off the smoke is gone, start it up and immediately smokes when warm, I'm just real tired of chasing this
