You should be fine. I ran mine at 0.006in intake/0.008in exhaust clearance for a few years without any issues.

Easy to change/swap shims while the cam is out so why not do it? There's a spec for a reason, even if others ignore it without apparent consequences. Most important is to get specs between cylinders as close as possible. All intakes the same, all exhaust tye same though intake and exhaust can be different.

Agreed. It's what, ~30% tighter than recommended? I'd absolutely address it.
