Some valves have a very rough stem and you can actually file the guide with the stem. Then you know you’ll have a problem. The fix is easy, spin the valve in a drill and polish the stem with 600+ grit sand paper. I then follow up with a white scotch brite pad.

Or custom from a number of manufactures.
This is also camshaft dependent as well. For reduced base circle cams I like to use VW type-1 valves as they are a few mm longer and work great with most performance cams.

Why the interest in stainless valves? Not really needed for most people.
