Cosbysweater's Turbo LS 244

My dad replaced the door and the door jam, fixed the quarterpanel and worked his magic on the wheel arches. The rear axle is slid forward 3/4 of a inch and I didnt want to mess with the rear end just to get tire clearance. it helps having it that far forward also because you run out of realestate at the back of the arch with a bigger tire.

Ive been driving the car alot lately. Everything is going great however there are alot of things i was okay with in my younger years that i am no longer accepting of. First ive always had open crank case hoses so the car stank all the time. Its pretty unbearable I dont know how i put up with it. I installed a catch can and bored another hole in the inner fender. My dad welded bungs into the valve covers and capped the oil filler. im going to relocate the coils on the passenger side and the fpr and get things a little more hidden so i can get a bigger exhaust made for it. Funny thing about the stink, ive always run delo in old engines, since this one was rebuilt i ran delo for the first oil change and switched to mobil 1 after and the stink went away. Talked to my friend and he stated the same thing that running delo with open breathers is stinky. i verified the same smell on my c10. will be switching to mobil1 on that too after the next service.

Also since everything was redrilled i got som ugly jeep wheels from Pat with old 195 gravel tires and these things can actually put the power to the ground very well! They are very noisy but they work amazingly well.

Socalsean and I went to redlist at famoso over the weekend. They did not do a very in depth tech inspection however i went above and beyond to be legal for 11.5. I ran half track and checked 60 fts most of the day and worked on the tune. it was 110 degrees at the track which is not ideal at all. i ran 1/8 mile passes and let off to dial the car in before a full send. Ended up getting the car to a sub 7 second 1/8th on a foot break (leaving on 2300 no boost). Last passes of the night i thought lets do a full one. i had been running 11.5 letting off at the 1/8th. Ended the night with a 6.7@107 in the 1/8th and 10.6 in the 1/4 at 114........ as you can see not a huge mph gain. This is due to boost creep along with not enough fuel. Bent 2 rods. Needless to say up to the rail i have a great fuel system, investigating injectors and regulator after the engine goes back in.

the 500 dollar f150 put in some work this weekend.

I might have missed it, did you do anything special to run the stock truck intake on the LS? I just picked up a 4.8L, and the few "LS1" style intakes available near me on marketplace are 2-3x what I paid for the engine

Nah it’s a stock nnbs intake with a stock 3 bolt throttle body off an older truck intake

Damn, 10.6 is ripping. With that 1/8th timecard you should be running much deeper into the 10's.
Yea the Mph gain after the 1/8th was pretty bad, I have no speedometer in the car and everything looked okay till the back fire. I have a truck cam and stock gm valve springs in the car and I ran it out to 7000 which is when it had a really nasty backfire. It was clearly laying over before that, My mind told me no and my foot told me yes.

Wow, those are some really good times. Sometimes I wish I had an auto. I only went 13.5 but at 117mph in mine. Haha.
