Desert Meet 2024 8/3 - 8/4

Just a thought, someone should bring an above ground pool, would be great for the hot desert day, though of course be terrible to fill and empty.

Some UPDATES! Semi-finalized schedule and activities.

SATURDAY 8/3
Morning, time TBD - Cars and Coffee at SAS Reno (not affiliated with SAS in Sacramento).
The local Volvo shop has agreed to let us use their parking lot.

Afternoon - scenic drive/cruise up to Virginia City.
Hot August Nights will be kicking off in VC that day, so lots of cool old cars. Plus VC is a cool historic mining town.

Late afternoon/early evening - cruise from VC to Fallon, hit the drag strip for $5 Saturday 6pm-midnight.

Late night - camping and shenanigans at Rancho Volvo (my place).

SUNDAY 8/4
Morning - sleep, recover from possible hangovers

Late morning/afternoon - rally cross

Evening - y'all can head home or head to Reno to check out more Hot August Nights stuff.

There are cheap hotels in Fallon if you don't want to camp on my property. I also might have a couch or a floor available if you ask nicely and promise to only puke in the trash can/toilet.

The biggest issue is I think they want you to take the water. Not completely clear, but I can't hold that much salt water in my 245
Ya I dunno I emailed the guy about that. Maybe just drain everything right there, he never got bac to me. Obviously a person can’t just take home the water but just drain it off to somewhere. I have the same pool but 8’. It has a drain hose connection plus if you just deflate the top part all the water spills out. I was mostly after the saltwater and filter bits. Haven’t made it to San Jose yet

It would be sweet for the meet, but I'm not going to expect Jo to want to fill it for a weekend and take it back down. I'm not sure if she has city water or not

Gotta bleed the brakes but the wagon's doing far better with the new ABS pump. Noticed tonight, way more cracking around where the lady hit me on the way to Davis. Looks like I will end up having to get the rear bumper redone in the future. Damn.

Erin won't be with me for most of it unfortunately...CCW class in the morning, work in the afternoon/evening, I think. Might run the wagon, just for S&G's.
