And they would prefer if ALL of the town had CCW's. We're over 50% at this point, so walking into a store and out with a toy is commonplace. lol

On a legit note, the wagon was fighting fuel issues at the track. Damned octane booster had gone south. Took forever to burn it out, ran a world better with fresh fuel. Fingers crossed I can get out of the hole, and maybe run a 14 again...if the turbo stays attached....

FAQs:
Where is Desert Meet held?
On a private 10 acre ranch property in Fallon, Nevada. DM volvo_cowgirl for the exact address.
Please be aware there are horses, pigs, chickens and more at the property and please be respectful of the resident animals!

What does it cost to attend?
Desert Meet itself is free. Drag racing Friday night at Top Gun Raceway costs $5 to get in the gate, $20 for a tech inspection to do unlimited runs with your car.

What do I need to do to drag race my car at Top Gun?
All vehicles are welcome at $5 Fridays, they do generally do a *VERY BRIEF* tech inspection to make sure your car has good tires and no loose trim. Small fluid leaks or other issues are generally ok. Your car does NOT need to be track prepped!

Do I need a helmet to drag race my car?
Unless your car is faster than 13 seconds on the 1/4 mile at 4000' feet elevation...no.

Can I bring my dog/kid/spouse to Desert Meet?
ABSOLUTELY NO DOGS OR MINORS are allowed at Desert Meet. However, anyone over the age of 18 that is trustworthy and likes Volvos is invited!
Please keep in mind that underage alcohol consumption will NOT be tolerated.

Can I ride your horses?
Not during Desert Meet. If you REALLY want to ride a horse we can possibly make arrangements for you to have a riding lesson some other time. But absolutely no riding horses during Desert Meet.

Can I pet/feed/play with the animals on the property?
Yes, at your own risk. I'll have treats available to feed the critters.

Do I need to make reservations for camping?
No, Desert Meet is held on private property.

Will there be bathrooms?
Yes, there is a whole house with bathrooms and running water on the property.

Is there a place nearby to shoot guns?
Yes, there is a plethora of public land nearby with several safe places to do target shooting. If you legally own firearms please feel free to bring them.
ABSOLUTELY NO GUNS AND ALCOHOL TOGETHER.

Run one pass under 13 then drive back to Rancho Volvo before they can yell at you. make Pieter get the slip.

242 might get a new clutch disc before then. Wheel spin in 1st and 2nd is operator error (can't fix stupid) but I can fix the clutch slipping in 4th and 5th.

I don't think I can make this happen without losing my sanity, I have every weekend between now and this event booked. So I'll be in my GRC or Porsche, or might bring up a truck and trailer to finally grab one of my cars I have stashed in various places throughout the Nevada desert.

Pieter will need a new clutch before desert meet to go anywhere fast.
 
Yeah, who knows on my status right now. Been booked every weekend for the last few months straight, so no work on the car, but I may run it anyway, without the booster. See if I can at least run a 14 this year.
