Hey y'all! Couple friendly reminders as we get closer based on some questions I've gotten:
#1 DO NOT SPEED, SLIDE, OR DRIFT ON THE GRAVEL ROAD TO MY HOUSE!! My neighbors & I work hard to maintain the road. If you fuck up the gravel I will make you fix it by hand with a shovel. There will be plenty of other places to drive like a maniac on the dirt. :-)
2.) Yes, you can bring pew pews.
3.) Yes, you can pet the *insert animal here*.
4.) No, you absolutely cannot bring your dog. Sorry, but they will likely get trampled, attacked, or run over.
5.) Please for the love of Redblock Jesus, no kids. This is not a kid friendly event. Bring em once they're old enough to drink in Sweden.
6.) Yes there are hotels in town if you don't want to camp. ~20 minute drive.

Hey Jo...if you haven't been in since the remodel, the booze selection at Walmart has grown, a lot. They even have Everclear now, plus some other stuff I've played hell finding.

Looks like I'm working Saturday morning unfortunately, gotta see how other stuff on the books plays out.

Unrelated, there's an estate auction going on Saturday morning here in town, a LOT of tools and crap on the roster. I have a pic of the flyer she dropped off at work today if anyone has any money.

Yes, I know, I reread that, y'all are broke fucks, but still. Reno ain't THAT far and there's plenty of street corners....
 
I am thinking of joining with my girlfriend to camp out on the property in the wagon. Have to fix a couple small things before we set out on the road trip. I'd be interested to see this on the drag strip. I have a tach I'd love to install before that but it's over my head.

Dont tell @AnthonyHardy2, he won't be waking up till we are all gone and @spock345 will have a pretty bad running 960. I have no clue what he does with it, but damn he goes through it.

Sorry I didn't response, been busy as hell, if @spock345 can come out next weekend, the that tach can be installed. I have 2 engine swaps to do in the next 2 weeks, my buddies have been out of their redblocks for a while now.

I was wondering if my phone was still working, haha. I'll be out of town this weekend for my anniversary, at least that is the plan.

Back in 99 the highest mileage VW Bus in the world was wrecked coming back from the camel races. His girlfriend was one of the event organizers, so he was there late. Hit a wild horse in the road and went down the side of the mountain. Over 980k miles on it, he bought his 67 in 71 and drove it daily until it's demise. That was the last time I was up there for the races.

Definite no this time around, Russ was going to be home so I was considering a quick trip, but Sprinkler isn't doing well so I'm staying here and working on the house.
 
Less than a week out!!! Hope everyone is ready!

I have a couple of indoor sleep spots available with first dibs to spouses of primary attendees.

In other words: if you have a non-Volvo-obsessed significant other that is on the fence about coming along, and not having to camp helps convince them, then there is a comfy guest room/couch inside the clean, air conditioned house for them. 🫡
