So after a long time of wanting a D24T I now have 2! One thats in a car and one that arrived loose with a bunch of spare parts. A local guy up in the mountains traded me them for a B230F and a 940 also with a B230. The car is an 86 740 black with oxblood but she is in pretty rough shape, shot paint, ruined interior, sun warped rubber, the works.

With no title currently this one will likely be relegated to a parts car, to donate all its diesel specific parts over to a clean shell. Trying to piece together a car that spent a long time in the NC sun is just not worth the time since everything is so UV damaged. Also I was told the ZF22 in this car may be pretty hurt

There is a 940 near me that just popped up for sale that is interesting, white with blue cloth interior and no sunroof (!). I think a US D24T 940 would be pretty slick, but first I need to get these motors running. Plan is to get some pallets from work and get the loose motor onto a wooden cradle to build a bench testing rig for it and get it running outside of a car at first.

Any and all D24T advice is appreciated!

I can share you a file called "D24 repair guide" if you want. I think it's a scan from the original Volvo green book.

I have a pretty healthy amount of tech resources, what I am more concerned about is finding the right shell for said diesels. The black 740 I got with the diesel in it does not currently have a title, and is in cosmetically pretty horrible shape. I would love to find a sunroofless 740 or 940 shell with good interior and exterior parts to use as a donor for the whole swap
